Chapter 1895 – To Haggle Over Price (2)
Iry’s expression looked a little ugly. He was a few years older than these undead teenagers, and had been staying longer at Deathfire Academy. He knew very well that their task was not that simple at all.
Just looking at this group of confident companions, Iry knew that even if he explained the importance of the task, they would not care too much.
Shen Yanxiao watched Iry come over dejectedly, but there was no surprise in her heart.
She knew that the price she offered was quite high for the task, but she felt no regrets at all. She had no intention of helping them. If they were willing to accept the fact that they were being exploited, she would train while doing the task. If they did not want to, she could just continue training on her own.
“Sorry, they can’t accept your price.” Iry looked at Shen Yanxiao embarrassingly.
Shen Yanxiao smiled and said, “The price I want is out of line. It’s reasonable that they won’t accept it. If it’s all right, I’ll go now.”
“Please wait!” Iry suddenly called, “I’d like to ask if… Where can we find you if we change our mind?” Iry had a hunch that their assignment would not go well.
Shen Yanxiao raised her eyebrows slightly. “Every noon, I come to the nearby spring to fetch water. If you change your mind, you can find me there.” Shen Yanxiao did not intend to expose her tree house.
“All right.” Iry nodded politely to Shen Yanxiao, then turned back to his team.
Shen Yanxiao continued her training. The encounter with this group of undead teenagers was just an episode of this training.
The next day after she separated from Iry’s group, Shen Yanxiao went to the spring to fetch water at noon. As soon as she came near the spring, she saw a group of undead teenagers lying on the edge of the spring.
This group of undead was the same group Shen Yanxiao met before, but in just one day, the group had changed dramatically.
They were even more miserable right now than when they were when being chased by the Mole Beast that day. Each one’s clothes looked tattered, face was full of dirt; each head of hair that was spread casually on the ground was disheveled like straw. The several undead girls were sitting on the edge of the spring with empty eyes.
If the group Shen Yanxiao had met before was a group of hapless eggs who had been hunted by an undead creature, she could only describe these teenagers as refugees fleeing from the desert right now.
How on earth did they end up looking like this in just one day?
Before Shen Yanxiao could figure out how, Iry, sitting in one corner, had already found Shen Yanxiao’s presence. He immediately got up and rushed towards Shen Yanxiao.
“You did come!” Iry’s gray face was almost weeping with joy when he saw Shen Yanxiao.
“What’s wrong with you?” Shen Yanxiao was having a hard time imagining what could have happened to these teenagers in the end. How could they look so depressed? Even Iry’s clothes were tattered, the black cloak covering his body looking like a mess.
“We met the ghost wolves,” Iry said, wanting to cry but without any tears.
Shen Yanxiao stared at Iry, wanting to say something, but then she hesitated. She did not believe that this group of undead teenagers who had no combat experience could deal with the ghost wolves. But even if they could not kill the opponent, they should not be left with this kind of appearance, alright?!
