Chapter 1826 - A Dispensable Character
Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire
Chapter 1826: A Dispensable Character
Old lady Qu laughed out loud. It was clearly Old master Qu who had just been rescued from danger but now, she was filled with thoughts of how to treat Qu Xiujie as though she was thinking of how to deal with the harm he had caused her in the company.
“So, Madam, you don’t want Young Master to come back?”
The butler did not understand what Old lady Qu meant and continued probing, “Madam, young master seems to be very concerned about old master, but it also doesn’t seem like it.”
“Why do you care? Why don’t you think it doesn’t seem like it?”
Old lady Qu’s eyes suddenly became nervous. She had worked hard in the Qu family for so many years just to chase Qu Xiujie out of the Qu family. She alone was enough in the Qu family.
As for Old master Qu, he was dispensable.
“There’s nothing wrong with Young Master coming to our house to look for Old Master. It’s also true that Young Master made Old Master so angry that he fainted. However, I saw Old Master faint and Young Master sent him to the hospital without delay. I really don’t believe that Young Master doesn’t care about Old Master. But I’m a little doubtful if Young Master genuinely cares about Old Master.”
The butler’s words were contradictory but Old lady Qu was on tenterhooks. The thing she was worried about was finally coming.
“Did you hear what Young Master said to Old Master?”
Old lady Qu could not help but suspect. Qu Xiujie would not visit unless he needed something and could even make Old master Qu faint from anger. Old lady Qu was very anxious to know what the two of them had said in the study room and what reason could make Old master Qu so angry.
“You piece of trash. How come you don’t know what they’re talking about?”
Old lady Qu scolded the butler again. He always did not know when he needed to know or find out about something.
A butler like him was not even as good as the dog she kept outside.
“Madam, I am in the wrong.”
The butler lowered his head. He could feel Old lady Qu’s anger and knew that in Old lady Qu’s heart, as an old man, he had lived in the Qu family for such a long time without being dismissed by Old lady Qu. He could be considered the oldest among this group of old men.
“What’s the use of just saying that you did something wrong? Can you tell me what Qu Xiujie said to old master or tell me when I’ll see Qu Xiujie again?”
“This…”
The butler was embarrassed. He could not do any of the two things Old lady Qu said.
“Forget it. I won’t talk to you about this. If Qu Xiujie comes again in the future, just call me and pay attention to what they said. If not, I’ll let you go back to where you came from.”
Old lady Qu had a fierce look on her face and the butler quickly nodded.
“It’s enough as long as you remember that you are my woman. In the Qu family, no one can touch you without my permission, not even that Qu Xiujie. He is about to become a member of the Ji family. What are you afraid of?”
Old lady Qu looked at the butler’s subservient manner and despised him.
“I understand. I’ll definitely listen to Madam and never trust Young Master again.”
“Who does Qu Xiujie think he is? In the Qu family, without Old Master, I am the only one who has the final say. You have to think carefully about who you are working for. As long as you think this through, you will know what to do.”
Old lady Qu turned around and continued, “Follow me to see old master now. No matter what, he’s still alive. We shouldn’t really leave him in the hospital. It’s only a few days away from his birthday banquet. Just bear with it until that day.”
Old lady Qu had a fierce look on her face as though she had already seen the arrival of that day.
Qu Xiujie, who was standing behind the emergency exit, waited for Old lady Qu’s footsteps to leave before walking to the next floor. He took the lift out of the hospital and returned to the house.
Pei Ge and Zhang Manhua were patiently waiting for news from Qu Xiujie in the house. The mother and daughter were busy in the kitchen while Mao Nana was bored and stretching with a split on the sofa in the living room. Her straight posture made Charlie, who was sitting at the side, give her a thumbs up.
“Amazing, amazing!”
Charlie Butler was not stingy with his compliments.
“You’re too kind, Uncle Charlie.”
Mao Nana seemed a little embarrassed at Butler Charlie’s compliment and waved her hands.
“No, you deserve such praise.”
Charlie laughed.
“Nana, Butler Charlie doesn’t praise people easily. Just accept it. Besides, words that Butler Charlie use are very valuable.”
Pei Ge was standing in the kitchen and looking at the hot soup in the soup pot. When she heard the conversation between Butler Charlie and Mao Nana, her lips curled up as though she knew that Qu Xiujie would bring good news.
“Okay, then.”
Mao Nana nodded and continued her training.
The family seemed to be chatting and laughing as they waited for Qu Xiujie to come home for dinner.
After a while, the door of the house was pushed open and Qu Xiujie walked in with a cold expression.
“Uncle, you’re back.”
Seeing Qu Xiujie enter, Mao Nana quickly put down her legs and walked to his side. She quickly poured a cup of hot tea for him. “Uncle, drink some tea quickly. You’ve been out for so long.”
Qu Xiujie looked at Mao Nana and hesitated for a while before taking the hot tea from her. He drank a mouthful of hot water before saying, “Aren’t you afraid that I’ll bring you danger by sticking to me like this?”
“What danger? I’m not a child. What haven’t I seen before?”
Mao Nana did not think much of it. In fact, she was already immune to Qu Xiujie’s attitude. As long as Qu Xiujie said something similar, she would automatically filter it out.
“Are you really not afraid?”
Qu Xiujie looked at Mao Nana and saw the innocence in her eyes. He could not bear to see her like this. Their time together was so wonderful that he could not bear to let such a beauty be by his side.
“I’m not afraid. I’m not afraid of anything as long as I’m with you. I’m not afraid of anything, even if it’s going up a mountain of knives or a sea of fire. I, Mao Nana, have never been a coward.”
Mao Nana mustered her courage and asked, “Did you encounter something when you went out today?”
“No.”
Qu Xiujie shook his head and continued, “I’m just making a speculation.”
