Chapter 739: Cosmic Blade Tome

Aside from cultivation manuals, Lin Jin also found many precious materials and treasures in the Beast Tamer Sect.

Immortal sects seem to be fond of collecting stuff and then being reluctant to use them. Years passed, and these people had died, leaving everything behind for other people to take.

And Lin Jin was one of those ‘other people’, so he didn’t hold back and took everything away.

His search continued but he found nothing else. Perhaps others might find quite a few items to their liking, but in Lin Jin’s eyes, these items were no longer worth his time.

After leaving the Beast Tamer Sect, Lin Jin planned to leave the Unending Nature Landscape completely. However, he suddenly recalled something and looked up into the clouds.

“Right, there was another treasure up there.”

And so, he flew up on clouds, reaching the sky swiftly to see a scroll hanging in the air with words written on it in large font. It was the Divine Blade Scroll.

Back then, Lin Jin had copied the contents to cultivate in private, managing to learn a bit of Sword Intent from it. He even used this incredible skill to slay quite a few powerful enemies.

After he obtained the Clear Wind Sword, he passed on the contents of the scroll to the sword, and the success of the sword’s cultivation actually further increased Lin Jin’s strength.

With the teachings of this scroll, the Clear Wind Sword was upgraded into an immortal sword.

And Lin Jin had never expected that.

The Clear Wind Sword actually had great potential and talent. The Divine Blade Scroll was also very effective in elevating its strength. They were like a mortise and tenon. If the joints fit, the sword’s power would increase considerably. But if it wasn’t a good fit, although there would be improvements, it would be on a tiny scale, just as it had done for Lin Jin.

Right now, his Sword Intent wasn’t worth mentioning at all. Performing it would just be embarrassing.

“Clear Wind, this is the Divine Blade Scroll. You can take a look at it,” Lin Jin said. The next instant, the Clear Wind Sword that was fastened around Lin Jin’s waist unsheathed itself and flew up. It then darted across the sky, seemingly pleased.

Shortly after, the sword took on the form of a young scholar who then saluted Lin Jin before studying the Divine Blade Scroll with delight.

This was the Clear Wind Sword’s spirit. He was once the vice leader of the Dark Wind Cave, but Lin Jin had captured him, and later on, he finally submitted, agreeing to become a sword Lin Jin could wield.

As Lin Jin had copied the text here before and this was only the original, Clear Wind shouldn’t be able to gain much from the words. At most, he might just gain a little more understanding of the Sword Intent by seeing the real thing.

And that was Lin Jin’s purpose.

But soon, appearing to have discovered something, Clear Wind moved to tear a slit in the Divine Blade Scroll.

Lin Jin was dumbstruck.

Destroying treasures was an undesirable behavior. But before Lin Jin could reprimand him, the latter continued to tear out a larger piece with great excitement, revealing a strange stone plate hidden behind the scroll.

It was Lin Jin’s first time seeing a stone plate in the sky. Startled, he quickly swallowed his words of reproach.

“Thank you, Master. You must have known about this Cosmic Blade Tome hidden behind the Blade Scroll. I have no words to describe my admiration for you,” Clear Wind said with gratitude. But Lin Jin didn’t hear much of it as he was still shocked by the stone plate.

Who the hell would know that a stone plate was hidden behind it?

Also, it surprised him to see words as tiny as flies carved onto the stone plate in a dense fashion.

Yet, Clear Wind assumed Lin Jin had known all along so Lin Jin couldn’t say anything but flash Clear Wind a mysterious smile. “Go on and research it.”

Clear Wind accepted the order happily. Since Lin Jin had nothing to do, he floated over to get a closer look.

“Cosmic Blade Tome…”

Lin Jin felt speechless. To think another manual was hidden behind the Divine Blade Scroll, and it looked powerful too.

Lin Jin began studying as well. Although his sword skills were average at best, increasing his knowledge was never a bad thing. Then, what he read startled him.

He had only read the summary of the Cosmic Blade Tome without actually getting into it, and already, it astounded him.

Lin Jin didn’t know how to wield an actual sword and knew very little about sword skills, so the standard of his comment surely wasn’t professional. Still, after reading the summary, he learned that the Divine Blade Scroll was only one part of the Cosmic Blade Tome. Just this fact proved how formidable the Cosmic Blade Tome was.

Since the Divine Blade Scroll was only a fraction, this tome was definitely more profound.

By now, Clear Wind was fully immersed in his research, ignoring everything else that was happening outside. This was good. The more he focused, the more he could comprehend the mysteries contained in this tome.

Lin Jin had no idea how long Clear Wind would take to comprehend them all. Perhaps hours? Maybe days?

But Lin Jin didn’t have to wait here. And so, he used the Cosmos Ink to leave the Unending Nature Landscape first as he had much to do outside.

For instance, the Visitation Hall would be opening soon. Also, Lin Jin had to rebuild his house in Maple City. He had to investigate the traces of the Beast Deity Cult and Patriarch Xue Pao, and finally, he had to travel to the extraterritorial land to bring Inferno Monk into the Unending Nature Landscape.

So much to do!

Lin Jin had absolute freedom now with nothing to tie him down. The world’s authority could no longer influence him. Be it nobles, royalty, or even premium countries, Lin Jin didn’t have to pay them any mind at all.

Jade Dragon Kingdom’s Emperor He Qian had sought an audience with Lin Jin countless times but never got a favorable response. Heavenly Spiral Kingdom’s emperor was much smarter when it came to this. He only sought an audience twice, and upon rejection, he stopped being a nuisance because he knew Lin Jin had much to do. Visits could wait.

Lin Jin could understand He Qian’s anxiousness.

After all, Jade Dragon’s forces were too weak compared to the others.

And yet, the weak Jade Dragon got involved in one of the biggest wars that had ever happened in the mainland. If they loosened up slightly, they might get devoured whole. So as the nation’s emperor, how could He Qian not worry?

Still, no matter how worried He Qian got, Lin Jin wouldn’t meet him yet.

He had to travel to the extraterritorial land and bring Inferno Monk over.

For the sake of fulfilling his promise to Daluo Temple and gaining a reliable ally in this place. Only, this ally could only stay in the Unending Nature Landscape, unable to come out.

Even so, if utilized properly, one could still do incredible things in this situation.

Of course, if there were other immortals who wanted to come, Lin Jin would be pleased to bring them over too.

The story of his journey would be saved for another time. By the time Lin Jin arrived at the extraterritorial land, two days had passed. In between, he explained his plan to Chen Xuankong and Qin Yunshang inside the Visitation Hall.

The moment he stepped on to the extraterritorial land, he no longer had the same reaction as he did the first time. It felt like returning to a familiar place instead. At the Mystery Dao Sect, Inferno Monk agreed without hesitation.

He genuinely had some history with Daluo Temple, and after hearing that their temple was almost wiped out, Inferno Monk didn’t want to see the organization end here. The monks there were like his grand-disciples in a sense, so he couldn’t just watch them fall.
