Jiang Fei held back the urge to cheer loudly after his plan succeeded. Now that all the pieces were in place, the next step of the plan was to wait until the Androids arrived.
Until then, Jiang Fei could relax! On the other hand, Qin Tian was busy preparing the reinforcements.
“Take him away, please,” said Qin Tian with a wave of his hands. The Androids then escorted Han Tianyu back to his cell.
“You would be wise to remember the face of your real enemy! The man that you had wronged!” Han Tianyu muttered to himself once he was tossed back into his cell. The plan was a success and there was nothing to worry about if everything went well.
“Contact Z7 Special Assault Team and have them to standby at the submarine bay!” Qin Tian ordered his men.
“Sir, yes, sir!” cried the officers that were in the room, before scurrying off to do their duties.
All 700 Supreme Android soldiers were gathered. The Special Assault Team had more members than what 0541 had detected when they were in the base!
“Voice-key input!” said the leader of the Androids when Qin Tian approached it.
“########,” Qin Tian took out a small, red leather-bound notebook and read out a series of numbers and alphabets.
“Voice-key confirmed,” said the Android before fully activating. As soon as the leader was activated, it turned around and sent a signal to activate the rest of the Android soldiers. A buzzing electronic noise was heard before the entire formation blinked with red lights. Their eyes glowed brightly for a moment before dimming down.
“Attention Z7 Special Assault Team. This is your order. You are now heading into Japan to retrieve an important asset. You will face enemies with powerful abilities. Your task is to prioritize the protection of the said asset and hold the ground until the second wave of reinforcements arrive. You are granted permission to target the enemies and disable them with extreme prejudice. However, in any given situation that you deem unable to protect said asset, you are given full authority to destroy the asset. You will not allow the enemies to take the asset away!” said Qin Tian to the team leader.
“Command received,” said the Android. Once the command was transmitted to the other Androids, the red glow in their eyes dimmed out, turning into eyes that looked exactly like any other human.
“You may commence the mission right away!” said Qin Tian before heading back to the command center. The Androids headed out in an orderly fashion and boarded the same submarine that Jiang Fei and the others did while moving to Japan. The sun was only about to set when all the Androids boarded the submarine.
…
Jiang Fei stashed away the communicator and headed back to regroup with Bai Wanli and the others.
“Sect leader Bai, tonight is the night. The reinforcements are already on their way here and they will arrive before midnight. However, there might be a battle before reinforcements arrive and we have to endure everything the enemy is giving us until then,” said Jiang Fei.
“I understand. They have done the best they could. You don’t have to worry about us. We, martial artists do not fear death!” said Bai Wanli. They cannot deny that they were disappointed about not having the reinforcements to be their cannon fodders but their principles would not allow them to back down from a fair fight!
When the sun was completely out of sight, Jiang Fei sat together with the other martial artists. 0541 pestered him to enter the game but Jiang Fei had refused to do so since there might be a battle with the Mutants soon. There was no way he had the heart to leave the other martial artists to fend for themselves.
It was about 8pm when 0541 suddenly reported in.
“Captain. Incoming subjects detected.”
“Where?” Jiang Fei asked as he stood up to his feet casually to not raise any suspicion.
“Are they the Mutants? Reinforcements shouldn’t be arriving so soon!”
“It’s not a Mutant… I have analyzed their power levels and determined that they are all martial artists,” said 0541.
“That’s odd… ” Jiang Fei arched an eyebrow. There should not be any other martial artists besides the Soaring Cloud Sect. To be honest, he would not want to have Ye Tianshun and Ma Xuantong to be part of his group.
“I have detected 11 of them.”
When 0541 gave a more detailed report, Jiang Fei and the rest of the martial artist could then hear them coming. It was the sound made when their clothes were brushing against tall grass and tree branches.
“Who goes there!” Bai Wanli roared, ready to fight.
“Let’s go!” Jiang Fei took the lead and charged in. The rest of the martial artists followed closely from behind.
“Who are you, people!” Jiang Fei roared as he got into a fighting stance while Bai Wanli and the other sect leaders merely stood relaxed.
“Old Bei?” said Bai Wanli as he recognized one of the martial artists.
“Are they one of us?” Jiang Fei asked.
“They are the Zhangle Clan! So, they are still alive!” cried Granny Jinghua surprised.
“How delightful it is to see a friendly face!” said Old Bei happily.
Jiang Fei immediately sensed something was odd when Old Bei was greeting Bai Wanli. It almost seemed that Old Bei was not surprised to see Bai Wanli.
“Where have you been?!” cried Bai Wanli as he dropped his guard and greeted Old Bei.
“It’s embarrassing. We have lost our way and have been circling these mountains for several days!” cried the elder.
“You must be lucky,” said Zhu Tianfei. His tone suggested disgruntlement. Zhangle Clan was known to be weaker than the other sects. It would take more than just luck for them to survive that long.
“Let’s us all head back first. You boys looked like you could use a good rest,” said Granny Jinghua. Out of the 11 fighters, only Old Bei a Level 4 fighter. Even so, to prepare for the upcoming battle, having one or two extra hands would be helpful.
While everyone was relaxed, Jiang Fei had a nervous tick.
“Something is not right. Zhangle Clan started out with over 20 people. It would not be weird if more than half were killed, or even all of them. How is it that they were all almost unharmed?” said Jiang Fei to himself.
“0541, scan the people of the Zhangle Clan. Especially the man called Old Bei,” said Jiang Fei.
“Captain, I have detected electrical devices in all members of the Zhangle Clan. Even on Old Bei,” said 0541 instantly.
“Hmph! I knew it!” said Jiang Fei under his breath. It was extremely odd that the Zhangle Clan could survive on their own for so long. It was obvious that they had surrendered to the Mutants and betrayed China!
When Jiang Fei had obtained information from Han Tianyu about the position of each sect in Japan, he knew that there was a group of Mutants heading towards where Zhangle Clan was. After that, there was no contact from them until now. Everyone, including Jiang Fei, had thought that they were all killed. Now, from the looks of it, it seemed that these guys had surrendered to the Mutants and the rest of them were killed or taken as hostages.
“Are you going to expose them?” Ariel whispered. These men were all mediocre. If Jiang Fei wanted to expose them all, he would be able to subdue all of them alone.
“No need to do so. I want to confirm this first,” said Jiang Fei. Even though he was angry in the bones, he could not just simply execute someone for doing something they were being forced to. There might be something at play and Jiang Fei intended to dig it out.
“Elder Bei, have you encountered any Mutants?” Jiang Fei stepped in and asked.
“How could we not?” said Old Bei with a heavy sigh.
Jiang Fei was thrown. Was he going to reveal everything then?
“We want to know everything! Please, tell us!” said Bai Wanli. It was extremely odd that the Zhangle Clan could survive this long. They had even arrived at the group without any lethal injuries!
