Chapter 1874 - Daddy, Don’t Go
Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire
Chapter 1874: Daddy, Don’t Go
“Daddy, can you not leave? I don’t want to be alone, and mommy definitely doesn’t want to leave you.”
She hugged her father tightly, not even daring to breathe.
The dream was so realistic that Pei Ge thought that as long as she hugged her father tightly, she would be able to bring him to her side. However, the ethereal figure would still leave.
“Ge Ge, daddy has been out for a long time, I need to leave now.”
Her father’s eyes moved slightly. Seeing the tears of grievance in Pei Ge’s eyes, his heart ached. His benevolent face did not reveal any other emotions but the guilt in his eyes made Pei Ge understand clearly.
“Daddy, don’t go. I’m begging you, don’t go.”
Pei Ge lowered her head. Her strength, which was at her father’s waist, suddenly increased by a frightening amount.
“Ge Ge, you have to be obedient. You already have someone by your side to take good care of you. With this person by your side, I’ll believe that you’re truly happy. I’ll only leave when you’re happy.”
“I don’t want to, I don’t want to. Please don’t go, Daddy, I’m begging you.”
Pei Ge choked. She would rather sniff her nose than shed a single tear. As long as her father did not leave, she was willing to do anything. As long as her father did not leave, she would rather give up on the beautiful days ahead.
“Ge Ge, you have to believe in yourself. I’m just going to live in a better place. You’re already very capable now, and you’re my pride. I hope that you can continue living with this pride and take good care of your mother. She’s a very good woman and should lead a better life.”
As her father’s voice rang out, Pei Ge felt that she could no longer hold on to her father. She tried her best to hold back her tears.
“Ge Ge, you have to be obedient, protect yourself, and protect mommy. I’ll leave mommy to you.”
A look of pain appeared on her father’s face, and the heartache in his eyes could no longer be concealed. The mist around them became thicker, and the distance between them became wider. Pei Ge’s grip on her arm became weaker.
Finally, she was defeated. Finally, she saw the thick white fog cover the fairytale-like world. Finally, she saw her father being swallowed by the thick white fog.
Finally, it was time to part.
“Daddy, don’t go, Daddy!”
Pei Ge suddenly felt weak in her legs and could not help but kneel on the ground. The white fog in front of her brought the beautiful moments from earlier away bit by bit. She could not chase after or do anything else.
“Ge Ge, you have to live on with daddy’s pride.”
Her father’s voice suddenly came from the white fog. It was so familiar and so kind.
“Daddy, if you’re not by my side, what’s the use of being proud? If you’re not by my side, what’s going to happen to me and Mommy? When you’re not by my side, I really miss you. Daddy, can you come back? I promise to be obedient in the future. I promise not to be naughty anymore. I promise not to make second uncle and his family angry anymore. I promise…”
No matter how many promises she made, they were all for the wind to hear.
The only reply she got was the soft breeze beside her ear, bringing with it the greatest sadness in her heart. She could not resist looking at the white mist in front of her with her beloved father.
“Ge Ge, daddy loves you. Daddy loves you very much. Can you still be daddy’s daughter in your next life?”
Her father’s face finally appeared above her head, so familiar yet so distant.
“Daddy, I’m willing… I’m willing to be your daughter.”
Pei Ge reached out her hand. Just as she was about to touch her father’s face, everything turned into nothingness. The moment she reached out her hand, she saw Ji Ziming’s figure walking over from the white fog. He was tall and had a cold face, but there was a gentleness in his eyes.
“Ge Ge, get up. Let’s go home.”
He slowly walked to her side and reached out to her.
“Ziming, you… why are you here?”
“Ge Ge, follow me. Let’s go home together.”
Ji Ziming walked up to her with a gentle voice and the warmth in his eyes.
“But, Daddy, Daddy left… I still…”
“Dad just went to a better place. We’ll be able to meet him soon. Now, we have to go home. Mom is still at home. Mom has already prepared a table of food for us.”
Ji Ziming’s voice was gentle. He was no longer as tall as before. He only knelt in front of Pei Ge and said even more gently, “Ge Ge, I’ll carry you home.”
Ji Ziming bent down and picked Pei Ge up in his arms. His steps were elegant and his eyes were filled with love as he looked at Pei Ge’s beautiful eyes. His lips curled into a cold smile.
“Okay, let’s go home.”
She lowered her head.
Then, she turned around and looked at the white fog behind her. It had actually all dissipated without her knowing. It was still that fairytale-like world, and it was still that patch of flowers and butterflies.
It was as if nothing had changed, but it also seemed like everything had changed.
“Is Mommy really home?”
Pei Ge asked seriously as she looked at Ji Ziming’s eyes.
“At home, waiting for you to go home and cook something delicious for you.”
Ji Ziming’s eyes seemed to be filled with the sun as his gaze became even hotter. The arm that was hugging Pei Ge also slowly became warmer.
Pei Ge turned around with a smile on her lips. When she opened her eyes, she saw the warm sunlight shining into the room through the curtains and onto her arms. It turned out that the warm sunlight was the source of the warmth.
“You’re awake.”
Ji Ziming supported his head with one hand and placed the other on the blanket that he had just covered Pei Ge with. His eyes shone brightly.
“Mhm.”
Pei Ge said as she met his eyes which were filled with sunlight. She saw and heard her inner voice. The so-called white fog was just a long wait. Since they could still be together, it meant that everything would happen again. As long as they could still be together, it did not matter how long they waited.
“Did you sleep well?”
Ji Ziming had never seen Pei Ge sleep for so long nor did he see her smile when she woke up. He thought that she must have slept peacefully that night, or else she would not be like this.
