Chapter 332 – British Chef

I’m Not Going to Be Bullied By a Girl

I wasn’t able to successfully retaliate against the private detective online, but I decided to finish the important things first. I’m going to change our front door’s lock.

I went to a security store near our neighborhood and spent two hundred big ones on a secure lock and asked them to help me change it.

They were pretty happy they were able to make a sale right when the store opened at 8am on Saturday morning. They felt it was a good start to the weekend, so the asking price was fairly reasonable.

I didn’t head to the lakeside to practice with gramps because I was busy changing the locks.

Since I knew the lock at my home could be picked easily, I can’t leave before the locks get changed.

I don’t have any concubines to help me because I haven’t set up a harem yet, so I could only do it myself.

Even though I can easily give Xiao Qin a call and she would happily help me watch the house, but she wasn’t able to recover well because she forced herself to go to school while she had dysmenorrhea. So it’s better if she stays home and rests, and I can also get a quiet weekend alone.

The lock was changed successfully before 10am. I looked at the brand new key with a sense of accomplishment.

Hmph, I don’t if it’s the private detective or Peng TouSi, let’s see you try to pick the lock now!

I decided to head to film city for a walk since I had nothing to do.

I wonder what Auntie Ren is like when she’s not on site? I heard she was instructing them with video chat. Does this mean she has to actually do a flip in her hotel room as a demonstration? I can’t hold back my curiosity without being able to see it in person.

I have to note: Although one of the reasons I came here was because I could see Ai Mi, it was not because of her underwear.

I had a dream last night where I forcibly took off Ai Mi’s underwear. Then, I held the underwear above my head and drooled while yelling: “Twenty thousand bucks!”. And I ran away leaving behind the terrified Ai Mi.

If I actually did that, then I wouldn’t even be able to tell Ai Mi that I’m her brother!

Director Cao gave me a call right when I was doing some self-reflection.

“Xiao Ye Zi, why did you send three boxes of vibrators. I didn’t order anything nor did I pay!”

“You don’t need to pay.” I laughed, “It’s a gift to support your AV business.”

Director Cao smacked his lips and said: “Don’t tell me you had a guilty conscience because you decided to try to trick me and give me a random pair of underwear and pass it off as Miss Ai Mi’er’s underwear? So, you gave me these to ease your conscience…”

Damn, can we have one conversation that doesn’t revolve around underwear? Can you please stop giving me more unnecessary pressure? I’ve already had a dream where I did something vulgar to my little sister.

Thus I briefly summarized the CIB incident to him. Of course, I hid the things about Ai ShuQiao and the private detective since those are family matters. I have no reason to tell Director Cao if my dad hadn’t even told him yet.

Director Cao came to a realization: “So that’s what happened… but wouldn’t they come to investigate me? I’m not afraid of fines, but what if I’m in the middle of a group film session….”

More like filming AVs… Don’t worry, they only fine people who have the intent to sell counterfeit goods.

Director Cao breathed a sigh of relief when he heard all he had to do was say it was for personal use and not for reselling.

But then he said: “Damn, how would I even use this many myself?”

“Director Cao, these are toys for women. I don’t think you can use them yourself.”

“Um… that’s true. I should host a raffle before I broadcast the second episode of Battle of Jin Ling and gave these as rewards.”

Oh, the episode where the female protagonist gets raped by the Jin Ling Young Thug? Aren’t the only ones who watch that show otakus who use it to jerk off? What do you want to achieve by sending them female love toys?

Before Director Cao hung up, he told me to hurry up and find a way to get my hands on Ai Mi’s underwear. The bank card he specifically prepared holding twenty thousand is just eagerly waiting to be used.

I think you’re the one who’s too eager! If you can’t control yourself, just pick up one of those female toys and use it on your own ass! I’m becoming more and more reluctant in giving my sister’s underwear away.

It was already lunch time by the time I reached film city via the subway.

I didn’t have to courage to head to Ai Mi’s RV for free food before I could sort out my feelings, so I went to the cafeteria for the actors.

I sat by myself to eat the spicy beef curry, but unfortunately, Kyle and the old translator sat down right across from me.

Kyle greeted me through his translator:

“It’s been a while. I came to ask you something.”

I kept my head down and continued to eat.

“Um, does Ai Mi have anything in particular she wants to eat? I keep inviting her for meals but she doesn’t like my British chef. She said she would rather starve to death than come to my banquets…”

Well, if it’s about what Ai Mi likes to eat, chips and cola are enough, but would you even believe me even if I told you?

Kyle kept bugging me when I didn’t reply, so I listed off a couple of traditional Chinese foods at random:

“Steamed buns, dumplings, Zha Jiang Mian, Sichuan Boiled Fish, Zongzi….”

Kyle had a horrified expression when he heard Zongzi.

“Forget about Zongzi, that’s not food for humans. I really don’t understand Chinese people’s eating habits.”

Really? Are you really looking down on Chinese food when you have a British chef? Even though I don’t think Zongzi tastes that good, but it’s still better than English food! If you say Zongzi isn’t food for humans, you should take a look at Bear Grylls’ survival show where he eats cockroaches, scorpions, rotten seals, etc… now that’s not food for humans!

Kyle continued to speak with lingering fears:

“It was the Dragon Boat Festival a couple of days ago and Ai Mi gave me some presents for the first time; it was a Zongzi without any fillings. At first, I was excited about trying a new traditional food, but once I tasted it, it was the worst thing I’ve ever ate and I never want to eat it again.”

That’s strange. A Zongzi without filling is normal, some people don’t even like to eat Zongzi with fillings.

“No, that’s not it…” Kyle waved his hands, “It’s the type Zongzi without any rice. It only had disgusting vegetables and I could barely even bite it.”

I was shocked and forgot to eat my beef.

Did Ai Mi give him a bundle of bamboo leaves wrapped in the shape of a Zongzi? How the hell can you eat that? How is that a present, it’s a prank!

I shifted my gaze towards the old translator who was interpreting Kyle’s words.

Weren’t you next to him at the time? You’re Chinese, so even if Kyle doesn’t know about Zongzi, you should! Or do you only care about translating and nothing else? Kyle, you hired a British chef and a translator who doesn’t stop you as you’re about to eat bamboo leaves. How did you even survive this long with these terrible colleagues?

I received a call from my dad right when I finished eating. He said he was finally released after a week of quarantine. He wanted to come home to give me a surprise, but when he got back he realized the lock was changed and he couldn’t open the door…

Well, if my dad’s locked outside, I should hurry home and open the door for him.

I headed home in a hurry and saw my dad downstairs playing chess with some other elderly men. He waved excitedly at me when he saw me arrive.

“Xiao Lin, did you miss me?”

Why are you trying to act cute? I thought you would be thin and lethargic after being in quarantine for a week, but you seem even brighter than before. Did something good happen?

I brought my dad home and gave him the new set of keys. As for why I changed the lock, I told him a neighbor who had the same lock had some stuff stolen. My dad praised me for preparing in advance and said I inherited his brains. He wanted to go to our neighbor and express his sympathies, but I stopped him in a hurry.

Since my dad’s already out, then that means Auntie Ren has also regained her freedom.

My dad invited me to eat a meal at a nearby restaurant to eat a reunion meal. I thought he was making a big deal over it, but I accompanied him since it made him happy.

“Oh, I have to return to the hotel tonight and make up for my missed work… but it feels a bit lonely since Auntie Ren won’t be with me tonight…”

She only stayed with you because she had no choice.

Although I would be supportive if you got remarried, the partner definitely can’t be Auntie Ren. Please stop giving me more trouble.
