Chapter 1902 - Quicksand City in Sovereign Domain
Dragon-Marked War God
Quicksand City in Sovereign Domain
Jiang Chen told Dragon Shisan the secrets of the Immortal World bit by bit – from the great war during the ancient times, to Sovereign Domain, the cultivation realms of Immortal Sovereign realm, and the location of the Barbarian World and Desolate Ancient Land.
“Damned! Let me digest it first.”
Dragon Shisan shook his head as he tried to remember that Immortal Sovereign realm was divided into nine realms. This wasn’t a big deal to him as cultivation itself was endless. A mighty cultivator must always have high expectations in their cultivation path.
The great war in the Immortal World didn’t surprise him much either. After all, he had witnessed it while he was in Golden Horizon. The scenes that were displayed on the Great Thousand Mirror was enough to explain everything, but the location of the Sovereign Domain and Desolate Ancient Land astonished him. In truth, Jiang Chen felt the same way when he first received the news because all along, they both had thought that the Immortal Court was the greatest place in the Immortal World.
They now knew that there was an essential difference between the Sovereign Domain and Immortal Court. The Sovereign Domain had existed mainly to fight the Barbarian Race, to prevent them from launching any sneak attacks in the Immortal World. The Barbarian Race was bloodthirsty and ferocious by nature. Like the devils, they bred very quickly. It would be the end of the Immortal World once their population reached an unimaginable extent, just like the catastrophe that happened in the past, but if there had been Sovereign Domain at that time, the Immortal World wouldn’t have suffered such a great loss.
What astonished Dragon Shisan even more was the cultivation base of Yang Junlong. The fact that he was a Sixth Grade Great Sovereign was already enough to set off a great storm. Being born in the same generation as Xiao Wangqing, the most that Dragon Shisan expected of him was Second or Third Grade Immortal Sovereign because Xiao Wangqing was merely a half-step Sovereign at present, but the truth was beyond imagination.
Despite Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan being men with great pride, they couldn’t deny the discomfort inside them while facing a Sixth Grade Great Sovereign. After all, the gap in cultivation base was just too enormous.
“Monkey, this trip is going to be very dangerous. You may even encounter the experts of the Barbarian World. Do you need time to think about it?” said Jiang Chen in a dignified voice.
Although they were brothers, it was necessary for him to make it clear in advance that the adventure might put their lives in jeopardy.
“Little Chen, I don’t have to think about it. As a brother, how can I stand idly by when Big Yellow is in trouble? I’m delighted that I can be of help. I would’ve been furious if you have gone to Desolate Ancient Land without telling me.”
Dragon Shisan pounded his chest, his qi fluctuated. “Everyone said that the Barbarian Race is incomparably formidable. Even a peerless Great Sovereign like Empress Xiao Yao died in that war. So Master Monkey is eager to see how powerful they really are. Furthermore, how can I refuse something so exciting?”
Big Yellow was equally important to Dragon Shisan. During the time when he was still in the wondrous rock, he had been kept in Jiang Chen’s pagoda, which made him extremely familiar with Big Yellow. After some time, they became life-and-death brothers when they found out that they had many things in common and got to fight side by side in battles. So naturally, he had a compelling obligation to rescue Big Yellow.
“Good brother.”
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan clapped each other’s hands. That was the strength of brotherhood. The clap of their hands represented invincibility and fearlessness. Not even the horrifying Desolate Ancient Land could stop their footsteps.
The next day!
Yang Junlong was already at the rendezvous point when Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan arrived.
“Senior, this is Battle Saint Ape, Dragon Shisan. He’ll go with us.” Jiang Chen introduced.
“En, good. We’ll depart now.”
Yang Junlong nodded. Then, with a twist of his body, a thick golden pillar of light shot out from his body. The pillar of light wasn’t the same as a pillar of energy. The surface of the pillar of light was densely-packed with formidable runes.
“This is the law of Great Sovereign,” said Jiang Chen, his eyes staring unblinkingly at the pillar of golden light.
“That’s right. The condensation of Great Sovereign Law is the thing that distinguishes half-step Sovereign and Immortal Sovereign. Immortal Sovereign is the paramount cultivation realm in the Immortal World, and one can only communicate with Sovereign Domain with Great Sovereign Law. To put it in another way, the Great Sovereign realm is the threshold for entering the Sovereign Domain,” explained Yang Junlong.
“If that’s the case, doesn’t it mean that plenty of Great Sovereigns are able to enter Sovereign Domain at any time,” asked Dragon Shisan.
“It isn’t as simple as you think. The Sovereign Domain has its own rules. Any Great Sovereign above Fifth Grade is obliged to head towards Sovereign Domain. Great Sovereigns below Sixth Grade aren’t obliged to go, but once they have chosen to go there, they can’t return to Immortal World again. This is the supreme rule of the domain, personally formulated by Immortal Execution King and Great Sovereign Zang Xian. No one has ever dared to violate it,” answered Yang Junlong, his face couldn’t help displaying a hint of respect at the mention of those two peerless Sovereigns.
“How did you return to this world then, Senior?” Dragon Shisan asked.
“Could it be that you haven’t realized that this is only a clone of mine?” Yang Junlong smiled.
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan nodded secretly, knowing full well that no one would dare to breach the laws of Sovereign Domain. Yang Junlong, who was a Sixth Grade Great Sovereign, could only return to this world with a First Grade Great Sovereign clone, but there were only a few of them who knew how to cultivate a clone even amongst the Great Sovereigns, and the strength of their clones wouldn’t be very strong.
An expert like Yang Junlong must have incredible means and trump cards, which could partly explain the power possessed by his clone.
“Senior, are we going to have to stay in Sovereign Domain as well after entering the domain?”
Asked Jiang Chen with concern. It would be bad news if he couldn’t return to Immortal World like the other Sovereigns.
“No. Your cultivation base hasn’t reached the Sovereign realm yet. You won’t be restricted by the rules.” Yang Junlong shook his head.
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan were relieved after hearing this. Naturally, Sovereign Domain was the destination they would want to go, but not for now, they still had plenty of unfinished businesses in the Immortal World. Their main purpose for heading to Sovereign Domain was to rescue Big Yellow.
*Hong Long……*
As the Great Sovereign Law continued to shake, a portal emerged in the void all of a sudden. It wasn’t enormous but was huge enough to fit three people.
The expression of Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan turned grim immediately as they knew that this was the portal leading to Sovereign Domain. The thought of them going to the legendary supreme domain made them nervous.
“Little Chen, do you think we are the only non-Sovereigns that entered Sovereign Domain?” said Dragon Shisan with a smile.
“Probably.” Jiang Chen smiled too.
“You two are right because not even Great Sovereigns are able to go to Sovereign Domain as they please. Sovereign Domain is a world created by numerous peerless Great Sovereigns that year. It isn’t a massive and prosperous world, but its existence is a responsibility. Those who have not reached the Sovereign realm aren’t idiotic enough to head over to Sovereign Domain to die. Moreover, they still wouldn’t be able to enter the domain even if they successfully arrived there without Great Sovereign Law,” confirmed Yang Junglong.
In truth, he had violated the law by taking Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan to Sovereign Domain this time, but that didn’t matter to him as he was a zealous man, and do things at his will.
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan exchanged a glance and sighed. As non-Sovereigns, they didn’t know whether to be proud or not.
“Let’s go.”
Yang Junlong turned and went into the illusory portal. Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan followed closely from behind.
*Bang!*
Soon, they reached the end of the passageway. A powerful spatial force fell upon them, throwing them off the passageway.
However, three of them landed smoothly. After all, this wasn’t their first time experiencing this type of passageway.
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan felt a jolt when their face was hit by a wave of slightly cold wind. Eagerly, they looked around the wilderness and discovered a city located a thousand miles away from where they’re standing.
The city wasn’t as large as the average city in Eastern Profound Domain. This alone indicated that Sovereign Domain truly wasn’t as prosperous.
However, the richness of the Immortal Qi here was incomparable. One could even absorb the qi essence of Great Sovereign from the air. Dragon Shisan and Jiang Chen couldn’t help feeling thrilled at the thought of this.
Despite being not that prosperous, this place was indeed the best place for cultivation.
*Swoosh!* *Swoosh!*
Just as the three of them emerged, two silhouettes materialized right in front of them. Both of them were First Grade Great Sovereign elders. They were the watchmen. Anyone who arrived at Sovereign Domain would be inspected by them.
But when they saw Yang Junlong, they immediately saluted. “Oh, greetings Sir.”
“En, continue to keep a close watch at the borders of Quicksand City.”
Yang Junlong nodded and led Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan towards the city.
Jiang Chen and Dragon Shisan were somewhat surprised by the situation. It seemed Yang Junlong had also established a foothold in Sovereign Domain.
“Why has Sir brought along two juniors with him? These two young men don’t seem to be at the Sovereign realm yet.”
“Well, that’s none of our concern. We just have to focus on our job.”
One of the elders spoke, bewildered, while watching the three fading figures.
“Senior…”
Jiang Chen was interrupted by Yang Junlong before he could finish his sentence. “I know what you two want to ask, but I’m not going to tell you anything about Sovereign Domain because it’s not the time for either of you to understand the domain yet.”
