Chapter 1324 - Fangzheng Exits Seclusion
The Monk That Wanted To Renounce Asceticism
Chapter 1324: Fangzheng Exits Seclusion
This fellow wanted to pick the Frost Bamboo’s tender leaves, but he didn’t know that the ones located at lower heights had already been swept away by Monkey and the others. The rest were all at the top of the Frost Bamboo. It was so high that he couldn’t even reach them.
Therefore, he searched everywhere but failed to find the Frost Bamboo leaves. Instead, he walked into the maze set up by Red Boy and company.
If it were any other time, Red Boy and company would have led the other party out when someone entered.
But now, no one was around. Therefore, Old Wang made a glorious tour of the Frost Bamboo forest for two hours.
At first, he thought that he had walked in the wrong direction. However, no matter how he walked, he always found himself back in the same spot. The longer he walked, the more flustered he became.
When he thought about how he might have encountered something supernatural, his legs trembled and his heart palpitated.
He finally couldn’t walk further. He sat on the snow and wailed loudly…
By the time Red Boy brought Bao Yuluo and company to find Old Wang, he was already crying like an adult-sized child.
However, the child didn’t behave. He wanted to run after he went out, but Squirrel waved his tiny bamboo stick. “Eldest Senior Brother, attack! Phew—ha!”
Half an hour later, Old Wang, who had been prodded until he looked like a beggar, was also cuffed. Red Boy helped Bao Yuluo and company escort the five people to the police station.
When he left the police station, Bao Yuluo came over and whispered, “Venerable Jingxin, tell me honestly. Were you the ones who threw the criminals outside the station the past few times?”
Red Boy stroked his chin and said, “To be honest, I don’t know either.”
“Who would believe you!” Bao Yuluo rolled her eyes at him.
Red Boy said, “Look, you aren’t believing me. So, it’s best you don’t ask me.”
“I’ll ask your master next time.” Bao Yuluo complained and went back to deal with the five thieves.
With the commotion from these five people, Red Boy began to take note. He activated his divine perception to scan the area every day. Indeed, there were people coming up the mountain every day in an attempt to steal something.
Some went straight for the Frost Bamboo tea, while others wanted to pull two Frost Bamboo sprouts. Some even wanted to get a rubbing of the stone slab. However, all of them were captured by Red Boy immediately before they were thrown into the police station.
Bao Yuluo and a group of colleagues set up a net at the entrance and someone would almost fall into it every now and then…
“Junior Brother, this won’t do. There are too many thieves,” Salted Fish grumbled.
Red Boy said, “What can I do? If I go all out and stew these people, I guarantee that no one will come again. But what about Master?”
“What are you talking about?” At that moment, a voice sounded.
Red Boy turned his head and saw a white-robed monk appear in the yard!
“Master!? When did you come out? I didn’t notice you!” Red Boy was truly shocked. He had been using his divine perception all this while. He even knew when the ants left their nests.
However, he did not sense Fangzheng returning!
Fangzheng chuckled. “Didn’t you see me? I came in just like that?”
Red Boy widened his eyes as he looked at Fangzheng and exclaimed, “Master, you… have stepped into the Dao?”
“What do you mean? Didn’t he step into the Dao before?” Monkey was somewhat puzzled.
Salted Fish said with a heavy expression, “It’s not that one. What we are talking about is the fusion with the world! Master seems… to have done it.
“Look at Master. Isn’t his every move extremely… Hmm, how do you put it? Full of charm? It’s natural, as if everything he does is only right and proper?
“This feeling is a manifestation one has after fusing with the world. It makes his actions very natural. Therefore, no matter what he does, you wouldn’t be surprised.
“Since you won’t be surprised, you naturally wouldn’t pay attention to him.
“It’s like… will you care about the flow of air?
“Would you care about the stream flowing down the mountain?
“Anyway, it’s very magical.”
However, before Fangzheng could reply, Red Boy and Salted Fish realized that Fangzheng’s otherworldly aura had instantly vanished.
In the same act of drinking tea, he appeared to be transcendent prior to this.
But now, he looked like a cow slurping up water…
Monkey said, “I think he has changed back.”
Salted Fish subconsciously nodded, but before he could do so, Fangzheng exuded the transcendent feeling again.
The moment Salted Fish opened his mouth, Fangzheng returned to his original appearance. Gulping down water…
Red Boy said, “Master, what’s the matter with you? Is your signal with the world bad? You keep getting disconnected and connected?”
Fangzheng said with a bitter smile, “Who am I to ask? After all, I don’t know what happened while I was engraving the armor pieces. For some reason, I seem to have grasped something, but also nothing at the same time…”
“Master, what did you see when you stepped into the Dao?” asked Red Boy.
Fangzheng said, “Chaos. After the chaos was over, there were mountains, rivers, clouds, and all things in the world. It’s as though I could control everything, do as I please, and enjoy pure freedom. It was also as though I couldn’t do anything. I was just a fleeting cloud. In short, it’s baffling.”
Salted Fish said, “That’s how it is when stepping into the Dao. It’s baffling. However, Master, isn’t your random stepping into the Dao a little too bizarre?”
Fangzheng shrugged. He really didn’t know.
If he hadn’t listened to Red Boy’s explanation, he wouldn’t even know what it meant to step into the Dao…
Fangzheng was unable to grasp his bearings. It changed randomly. The only feeling he could grasp was that he would step into the Dao when he tried his best to not think about anything. If his thoughts were slightly messy, he would be out of it.
But how difficult was it to reach the state of emptiness?
If he stayed in the bamboo forest all the time, and did not care about anything, he might be able to accomplish it.
However, how was it possible to not come into contact with outsiders or think about anything?
In addition, Fangzheng realized that after stepping into the Dao, he seemed to have gained a deeper understanding of his divine powers.
This was especially so for the Divine State divine powers. He had a feeling that he would not be able to use great divine powers. However, for some small tricks, he would be able to control the essence as he pleased by maintaining the state of stepping into the Dao.
It had to be said that this was a great harvest.
However, Fangzheng had never tested the upper bound of these small tricks.
Therefore, he beckoned Lone Wolf over.
Lone Wolf was puzzled. Why did he call him?
Fangzheng tried his best to calm himself down. After composing himself all day, his mind once again turned empty and ethereal. His eyes were as holy as Buddha as they swiped across Lone Wolf’s head. A dandelion grew out of Lone Wolf’s head and bloomed, turning into a ball of white velvet before flying away with the wind…
As for the leaves, Fangzheng plucked it off Lone Wolf’s head and threw it to Monkey. “Use it for a cold dish.”
Monkey was stunned. “Master, how did you do it?”
Fangzheng said, “This is a Buddhist method. You should cultivate well. In the future, you might even have a chance of cultivating a method or two.”
