Chapter 1486 - Little Ling Is Awesome
I Might Be A Fake Cultivator
Chapter 1486: Little Ling Is Awesome
The divine tool, Sword to Send You Safely On Your Way, fell from Ye Ling’s grasp.
All of the spectating elders and disciples thought that Ye Ling was simply too depleted and injured from the battle, which was why her weapon had slipped out of her hand.
However, An Lin’s expression became extremely grave.
Sure enough, in the next instant, the Sword to Send You Safely On Your Way began to move on its own. A silvery-white light shot forth even faster than An Lin could follow.
Seeking An…
Didn’t that mean seeking An Lin?
This was a divine tool that belonged to him, and it was tracking him down!
He immediately unleashed his six divine flames and one holy flame to form a series of barriers to protect him.
However, to his surprise, the dagger suddenly disappeared before it came into contact with the flames, and the hair on the back of his neck instantly stood up on end.
The dagger had suddenly appeared right before him!
It was hurtling toward him, and a frosty aura surrounded his entire body.
The blood Ye Ling had thrown up onto his face was exuding a faint energy fluctuation. This was a catalyst to significantly elevate the divine tool’s power.
Even the blood she had thrown up all over his face was a part of her plan?
An Lin was suddenly enlightened in that instant.
Ye Ling had told him that the divine tool belonged to An Lin instead of her. She was probably using her Seeking An technique to return the divine tool to its rightful owner…
Although this was probably the most innovative way of returning something to someone that he had ever seen.
While returning the divine tool to him, she was also sending him on his way…
This really was a Sword to Send You Safely On Your Way!
An Lin was about to be sent “safely” on his way by this sword!
Whoosh!
The silvery-white streak of light shot through the air.
It then streaked through the sky like a meteorite before quickly disappearing into the distance.
All of the disciples only saw a white light flash past before An Lin fell backward, and all of their eyes widened. Some of the female disciples had turned deathly pale with fright.
“Sect Leader An Lin!”
“Did his head get blown off?!”
“There’s no way anyone can survive after having their head punctured by a divine tool.”
“Chirp… God An only just came back to life, and he’s dead again already?”
All of the disciples were either sobbing or sighing with grief.
All the way up until An Lin turned around to look at them with a speechless expression. “How melodramatic do you want to be?”
All of the disciples felt as if a huge burden had been lifted from their shoulders upon hearing this.
“Sect Leader An Lin’s entire face is smeared with blood, and he still hasn’t died! As expected of our Sect Leader An Lin!”
“Isn’t that Ye Ling’s blood?”
“Er…”
An Lin began to clean the blood off his face using a spell technique.
However, after clearing away the blood, everyone saw a light wound on his cheek, from which blood was slowly seeping. It wasn’t a large wound, and it appeared to have only been just inflicted.
“Chirp!” The phoenix seemed to have realized something, and it yelled with excitement as it flapped its crimson wings in celebration.
“Sect Leader An Lin was injured.”
“Could it be… because of that last strike?”
“It must be! Sister Ye Ling has won!”
Even though the reality had been laid out before their eyes, some of the disciples still did not dare to believe this.
An Lin had made an agreement with Ye Ling that it would be considered his loss if Ye Ling could draw blood from him, and now, An Lin had a slight gash on his face…
“This sparring match has lasted a duration of thirteen minutes, and An Lin has been injured, so Ye Ling is the winner!” Bai Ling announced the final result with a clear, elated voice.
The entire drill grounds instantly fell silent.
Raucous cheers then erupted into the heavens.
“Congratulations on your victory, Sister Ye Ling!”
“She won! Sister Ye Ling won!”
“That was the most epic and inspirational come from behind victory I’ve ever seen, waah…”
“That was awesome! Hahaha…”
Everyone was very elated for Ye Ling as she had been able to launch a successful counterattack despite being beaten down so severely. Everyone admired her for her determination in securing the extremely hard-fought victory.
On the contrary, An Lin had dominated the entire match, but he was immediately denounced by all of the spectating disciples just for sustaining a small gash on the cheek…
“Dong Zhen, I…” Cheng Yingxiong turned to the sexy vixen beside him with excitement and a hint of fear in his eyes.
Dong Zhen gave Cheng Yingxiong three firm pats on the shoulder and winked at him with a seductive smile. “See you tomorrow.”
Cheng Yingxiong faltered initially before being overcome with joy. He turned to look up at Ye Ling with tears of gratitude shimmering in his eyes. “Thank you, Sister Ye Ling!”
On the drill ground.
The raucous cheers did not seem to have affected the two master and disciple duo.
Ye Ling struggled to her feet with great difficulty, and she turned to An Lin before speaking in a loud, trembling voice, “Master, I won.”
An Lin nodded lightly with a smile. “You sure did. Little Ling is awesome!”
Ye Ling stared blankly at An Lin. His warm smile and his reliable figure struck her with an overwhelming sense of security.
She thought back to a century ago, when she learned sword techniques and cultivation methods from her master on these very same drill grounds. At that time, her master would praise her with the exact same words whenever she made improvements.
But then, her master disappeared.
Her master couldn’t see any of her improvements anymore.
All of those words of praise that she had taken for granted suddenly disappeared from her life. Only then did she suddenly realize just how much she yearned for approval and acknowledgment from her master…
Without his praise, each of her improvements didn’t seem complete. She progressed all the way from the Spirit Nurturing Stage to the Soul Formation Stage to the Return to Void Stage, feeling as if something was missing the entire time…
She had come all this way, and she wanted nothing more than a chance to share her experience with that person.
More than anything else, she wanted to hear him say “Little Ling is awesome” again…
This was a dream that she didn’t dare to tell anyone about, and it had finally come true today.
Ye Ling stared at the white-robed figure standing before her, and tears began to flow down her face.
“Why are you crying, Little Ling? Was it something I said?” An Lin was given a fright by Ye Ling’s sudden display of waterworks.
“Pfff…” Ye Ling burst into laughter.
A particularly entrancing smile appeared on her face.
Her vision suddenly blurred, and she swayed slightly before falling backward.
A light breeze swept past.
An Lin half-knelt to the ground and caught Ye Ling by her slender waist before holding her in his arms.
“Little Ling, Little Ling, are you alright?”
An Lin was feeling a little guilty as he looked at Ye Ling. He regretted inflicting so much damage on Ye Ling during their battle.
“I’m fine… I’m just really exhausted… but also very very happy. I just want to rest…” Ye Ling sidled up to An Lin in a display of attachment, as if she were a little girl latching onto her big brother.
She raised her head to look up into the sky, just in time to see the sun gradually setting beneath the horizon. “Master, do you like watching sunsets?”
“Hmm?” An Lin faltered slightly before nodding. “I do.”
“Me too.” A sweet smile appeared on Ye Ling’s face, and she slowly closed her eyes.
This familiar aura, this familiar warmth.
Ye Ling felt like she had returned to a century ago.
Every time she finished practicing her sword techniques, the sun would already be setting, and she would be drenched in sweat. An Lin would then appear at the drill ground and wave to her with a warm smile on his face. “Dinner’s ready, come on, Little Ling!”
Ye Ling would always rush over with elation and hold onto An Lin’s large, warm hand. She would tell him about the improvements she had made that day, and her day would be complete when she heard An Lin’s praise.
That was all in the past, and the past could only be revisited.
Fortunately, her master had finally come home.
She loved watching the sunset with her master by her side.
