Chapter 1768 - Nocturne Illusion
Peerless Battle Spirit
Chapter 1768 - Nocturne Illusion
Qin Nan frowned.
Just talking to him?
What exactly was this Yuanji up to?
“Does that mean I’m the reason he has come here?”
The thought crossed Qin Nan’s mind.
“Cultivator Qin Nan, I’ll just be asking you a few questions. That’s all it is. I won’t set you up. Besides, you already saw how I’ve engaged the enemy first when you were in danger,” Yuanji blurted out when he did not receive a response for some time.
Qin Nan’s lips twisted slightly.
This Yuanji was pretty shameless too.
“Alright, I accept, but how are we going to leave this place?”
Qin Nan nodded after some thoughts.
He did trust the monk. He must be up to something else apart from just wanting to ask him a few questions.
However, he had the Ownerless Heaven Pattern and the Divine Battle Spirit. He could also communicate with the copper mirror at any time. He did not have to worry too much.
“Hehe, Cultivator Qin Nan, don’t you worry, you won’t suffer any losses working with me.”
Yuanji’s eyes flickered cunningly as he spoke, “The truth is, you have all been tricked. This Icy Snow Corpse Valley is only an illusion.”
Qin Nan was startled. He blurted out, “An illusion? If it’s an illusion, why didn’t my eye-technique notice anything fishy?”
Even though he had encountered many existences that his Immortal Eyes of the Divine God of Battle were unable to see through in the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm, he could still tell something was different about them.
“Your eye-technique is very impressive indeed, but this illusion is a little special. It’s originating from your heart. The moment you step into the hall, your eyes have been tricked,” Yuanji explained.
“Then how were you able to figure it out?” Qin Nan asked curiously. He had believed thirty percent of it.
“Hehe, I was just lucky. The Buddhist doctrine that I’m practicing, the Heart Sutra of Siddhartha Gautama helps me to comprehend my heart, clear my doubts, and verify my beliefs. It’s not that useful normally, but it’s surprisingly effective against illusions.
Yuanji seemed quite confident.
“I see.”
Qin Nan had started to believe most of it.
The world was filled with wonders, and many things would either reinforce or counteract one another.
“Continue on then, take us deep into the place.”
Qin Nan asked when a sudden thought crossed his mind, “If you can figure out that this is only an illusion, doesn’t that mean the people of the Ancient Bodhi Temple could figure it out too?”
Yuanji smacked his lips with a disdainful look, “That old man did practice the Heart Sutra of Siddhartha Gautama too, but his level isn’t close to mine. He needs more time to realize something isn’t right.”
Qin Nan nodded.
Yuanji was truly an Exceptional Genius. Even the Peerless Genius of the same faction was no match against him.
However, it was clearly in their favor. It would buy them some extra time.
Yuanji did not waste any time further. He reached his hands out and instantly performed a few thousand hand seals, drawing Bodhi talismans and inserting them into Qin Nan and his crew’s bodies.
“Fat bald donkey! What do you think you are…”
The other three glared at the monk.
However, before they could finish, they all felt the scenes in front of them twisting and breaking into pieces.
“What just happened?”
“Where did they go?”
Immortal Emperor Zhugang, Immortal Emperor Jiangjue, Immortal Guqing, the Peerless Rulers, and the cultivators were shocked to notice Qin Nan and the others who were the reason they were in such a pinch had disappeared.
“Could this be…”
The old monk in a gray outfit was startled. He closed his eyes and comprehended for a moment before noticing something. He immediately blurted out with a displeased look, “Damn it, this place, it’s an illusion! Yuanji has broken the illusion and brought them away.”
The crowd was astounded by the words.
They immediately came to a realization after the old monk briefly explained the situation to them.
“What is your Ancient Bodhi Temple up to? Are you trying to protect Qin Nan?”
Immortal Emperor Jiangjue wore a displeased look.
The cultivators of the other factions shared the same reaction too. Even though they did not hold any grudge against Qin Nan, they had clearly lost the upper hand now that Qin Nan and his crew had gotten a head start.
Normally, a head start would guarantee them the chance to obtain more benefits.
“Fellow cultivators, you’ve misunderstood us. The Ancient Bodhi Temple sees Qin Nan as an enemy too, so is Yuanji. However, even I don’t quite understand what Yuanji is thinking most of the time,” the old monk said with a wry smile.
“Senior, now is not the time for it. Hurry up and break the illusion,” Xu Lai, Xiao Yiyu, and the others urged.
“Got it.”
The old monk performed a series of hand seals.
Meanwhile, the first floor of the mysterious Glaze Ancient Palace…
The pure immortal intent lingering in the air was strong as usual, but the Icy Snow Corpse Valley was nowhere to be seen.
It was replaced by some ancient ruins emitting an aged desolated aura.
Qin Nan and his crew glanced ahead and saw many ruined palaces of different sizes. They were still magnificent even though they had lost their glorious appearance.
“F**k me!”
The Eight Brilliance Demon Emperor and Yuanji suddenly cursed simultaneously.
Qin Nan’s eyes were filled with astonishment too.
They had noticed a few hundred statues wearing armors that were stained with blood inside a rotten hall when they were observing the palaces.
On the wall deepest into the hall hung a pitch-black axe.
The axe was dull, yet it had a hint of Dao intent flowing inside it.
It was obviously a Dao Weapon!
In addition to it, the palaces nearby also had weapons, ancient drawings, bronze lights, and many things hanging on the walls. There were also pills and manuals scattering across the place.
They were all Dao Weapons!
The pills and manuals were most likely something unusual too.
Most importantly, there were more than a thousand palaces across the ruins before them!
If every palace had a Dao Weapon, it meant there were around a thousand of them in total!
This was no ancient ruins, it was a huge treasure vault instead!
“Look…there…there seems to be a huge door there,”
The Blood-Eye Human Immortal suddenly noticed something.
Qin Nan and the others were startled. They quickly shifted their attention to it and saw a faint round door over thirty zhang tall and eight zhang wide behind the palaces.
The door was not shut. It was slightly open, but they had no idea where the darkness behind it led to. The eerie patterns that were carved on the wooden frame had an oddly intimidating aura.
