Chapter 1068 - Meeting the Mysterious Being
I Might Be A Fake Cultivator
Chapter 1068: Meeting the Mysterious Being
A new palace had appeared amid all the rubble and wreckage…
Both An Lin and Lan Xiaoni realized what this entailed.
Both of them could feel their heart rates accelerating as they stared at the palace with nervous expressions.
The palace was massive. Just its width alone exceeded a kilometer, and its main color tone was white. It had white walls with red windows, and the top of the palace tapered and converged to a single point. Even in the inky darkness of the seabed, it glowed with a faint light, as if it were a bright jewel in the darkness.
They were only here to try their luck but they didn’t think that they would discover a palace amid the wreckage… Did this mysterious being have obsessive-compulsive disorder? Why did it have to build the palace exactly at the center of the explosion? Couldn’t it have built the palace elsewhere?!
These were An Lin’s thoughts, but he did not dare to articulate them.
“Big Boss An Lin, are… are you really going to do this?” Lan Xiaoni’s voice trembled.
An Lin nodded with a heavy expression. “That’s right. Don’t worry, I still have many trump cards, so there’s a very good chance that we would come out on top!”
Lan Xiaoni didn’t know where An Lin’s confidence was coming from, and she could only nod with difficulty. At the same time, in an attempt to muster up some courage, she brainwashed herself by constantly reminding herself that Big Boss An Lin was invincible.
The two of them began carefully approaching the palace.
An Lin tried to use his divine sense to detect the situation within the palace, only to have his attempts thwarted by an invisible barrier. No matter how much he amplified the power of his divine sense, it was still unable to penetrate through the outer walls of the palace.
This was definitely not a simple place!
An Lin took a deep breath and arrived at the white gate. He was just about to push open the gate when his hand faltered in mid-air.
Lan Xiaoni was ecstatic upon seeing this, thinking that An Lin must be having second thoughts. “Big Boss An Lin, we should go back and have some more brainstorming sessions. There must be another way!”
An Lin ignored her and pulled out his Gundam One and Gundam Two from his storage ring. “Go forth, Cannon Fodder Gundams!”
Lan Xiaoni: “…”
That’s right, An Lin didn’t want to take the risk himself, so he decided to deploy his Cannon Fodder Gundams to test the water first.
Gundam One and Gundam Two were too weak now to do anything aside from jobs like this…
An Lin and Lan Xiaoni slowly retreated into the distance, even though they knew that this amount of distance would not do them any good against a mighty figure of this caliber.
The two Gundams pushed open the gate at An Lin’s behest.
A resounding boom erupted.
The gate was slowly pushed open.
The two Gundams were just about to scan the interior of the palace.
“Enemies…”
A faint voice suddenly sounded from within the palace.
The two Gundams began to tremble violently.
Then, their superalloy bodies began to disintegrate at a perceptible rate!
Crack crack crack… Bam!
The two Gundams exploded!
This wasn’t just a normal explosion. Instead, their entire bodies had been annihilated into their tiniest constituent particles, until there was nothing left of their bodies.
An Lin and Lan Xiaoni each drew a sharp intake of breath upon seeing this.
What the hell just happened!?
There were no energy fluctuations, and just a single sentence was enough to make the Gundams explode?
Even though they had read about this in the journal, it was a much more astonishing experience seeing it happen firsthand.
An Lin was pretty confident before coming here, but now, his confidence had been completely wiped away!
Lan Xiaoni reflexively hid behind An Lin. She was absolutely petrified!
Just how powerful was this mysterious being to be able to possess such an ability?
Furthermore, it had referred to the Gundams as “enemies”. Even after the Starfire Battleship blasted its house into smithereens, it still didn’t refer to them as “enemies”, but it was now referring to the Gundams as enemies?!
Cold sweat began to pour down An Lin’s forehead as a sense of horror welled up in his heart.
He couldn’t help but feel like he was in an even more dire situation than the Starfire Battleship crew!
Both the mysterious being’s power and its attitude toward them made An Lin experience a sense of immense pressure.
If its attacks were perceptible, the Chaotic Alloy Brick and Vermilion Bird Mirror could be used as defensive tools. But this was a being that could annihilate the two Gundams with a single sentence! How was he supposed to defend against that?
Wait… A single sentence?
An Lin suddenly came to a realization.
Could it be that this mysterious being’s attacks had something to do with sound?
An Lin suddenly made a connection. Regardless of whether it was the Starfire Battleship being attacked or the two Gundams being attacked, the mysterious being always had to say something to effect a change.
The two Gundams were cannon fodder, which it could easily take care of without saying anything, so why did it utter a sentence first?
Those were just two mechanical puppets! What was the point of talking to them?
Why did it speak?
Could it be that this mysterious being liked to speak?
That was not completely out of the equation…
Just as all of these thoughts were flashing through An Lin’s mind, a faint voice sounded from behind him.
“Big Boss An Lin, what are you waiting for? The gate is about to close on its own.”
An Lin immediately raised his head to discover that the gate was indeed slowly closing.
Should he continue onward, or make a retreat first?
To be honest, calling it a retreat was just a bogus. All they were going to do was to sit around and wait for death.
Screw it!
A ferocious expression appeared on An Lin’s face, and he was just about to take a step forward when a figure suddenly appeared before him to block his way forward, seemingly as if it had materialized from thin air.
This was a dreamy blue figure with no set shape nor size. It was as if it had merged with the entire ocean, as if it were heaven and earth itself.
An indescribable feeling welled up in An Lin’s heart.
He stood rooted to the spot, staring blankly at the scene before his eyes.
Lan Xiaoni felt as if she had seen the most powerful God between heaven and earth, and her fishtail collapsed underneath herself as she bowed her head to the ground, not even daring to look at the blue creature.
An Lin knew that this was the mysterious being that had destroyed the Starfire Battleship with two sentences and annihilated the two Gundams with just one sentence!
Who said they had to look for the mysterious being?
The mysterious being could come to look for them if it wanted to!!
An Lin had no choice but to muster up his courage and yell out, “Don’t be rash, Senior! We don’t bear any ill will toward you. We’re just here to talk.”
He chose to clarify the situation first in case the mysterious being decided to kill them before he had a chance to do so.
The blue figure had an extremely dream-like and ethereal quality. An Lin couldn’t even tell whether it was round or angular, let alone determine what it looked like. However, An Lin could tell that the blue figure had its attention focused on him.
“Gulp…” An Lin swallowed involuntarily.
He looked at the indeterminate creature before him and stood up straight.
He could lose in a battle, but he couldn’t lose in a contest of wills.
The blue figure slowly descended to the ground before materializing into a certain shape…
An Lin’s heart thumped like a jackhammer in his chest. He didn’t know what this mysterious being was doing, but he instinctively knew not to disrupt this process.
Finally, the mysterious being materialized to become a humanoid water creature with no facial features.
At least they could determine its shape and size now.
An Lin faltered slightly upon seeing this, clearly unsure of why the mysterious being had decided to do this.
In the next instant, the humanoid water creature cocked its head to the side and slowly extended a hand toward An Lin. “Hello.”
