Chapter 420 - Released Aroma
I Am A Prodigy
Chapter 420 Released Aroma
[I feel sorry for the stove. It was probably never stuffed to that extent before.]
[Is that jealousy? Wow, two goddesses fighting for God Ye. I smell drama.]
[We’re forming teams. I’m supporting Baby Ying all the way!]
[I think that Hu Yue’er is the better match for God Ye!]
[I’m against both. God Ye is ours!]
…
In the past, if there were any rumors of Ye Lingchen being with Zhao Liangying and Hu Yue’er, the fans would most likely go berserk. Just getting lambasted online would be considered a minor nuisance as they might even come after Ye Lingchen themselves.
However, over the past few days, Ye Lingchen proved himself with his abilities. Not just the girls, but even the guys were slowly turning into his fans, including some of his haters.
His performance was impeccable. Putting aside his good looks, he was graceful and talented. Sufficient to say, women would go crazy over him while men would feel insignificant.
Ye Lingchen placed the fish and prepared ingredients into the wok. After stir-frying, he then covered it and braised it on low heat.
Fish cooked quickly. In about 10 minutes, steam filled the wok and made a gurgling sound.
Within the wok, white misty steam was roiling, spreading the rich aroma of fish from within. The aroma was not intense right off the bat. It merely tickled their noses, smelling incredibly fragrant.
However, as the meat of the fish continued cooking, the aroma grew stronger, enveloping the entire hut. Everyone felt their noses twitch.
Zhao Liangying could not help but smack her lips together repeatedly, with the occasional saliva leaking out. That aroma was just too overwhelming.
Hu Yue’er similarly took a deep breath. That aroma fully ignited her appetite.
Huang Lei’s face froze for a moment as well, looking at Ye Lingchen in astonishment. Never did he thought Ye Lingchen’s culinary skills to be at that level.
He Jia and Wei Daxun were both mesmerized, feeling shocked to the core.
It was about time.
When Ye Lingchen lifted the lid, steam wafted out at full force. Following that, the rich aroma was like a depth charge, exploding in that instant!
“Wow, wow, wow!”
Zhao Liangying’s voice was trembling. She stood up immediately and rushed into the kitchen, no longer caring about her squabbles with Hu Yue’er.
“It smells amazing. How can it smell this good?” Huang Lei’s nose twitched as he seemed to be paralyzed in astonishment.
He was an experienced chef, but no matter what he did, he could not create such a mouth-watering dish. Furthermore, he could not be sure if it was his imagination, but he felt that the aroma alone was able to calm his nerves.
“God Ye, what did you put in this? The aroma seems so unique,” asked He Jia. Even with his level of self-control, he was salivating uncontrollably.
“I’ve added some herbs. Nature is wonderful. A lot of things would synergize with each other and bring us surprises,” Ye Lingchen replied with a smile. He could create the best-tasting dishes with limited resources.
To those words, Huang Lei merely smiled and did not take it to heart. He loved cooking, and Ye Lingchen was speaking the truth.
“Lingchen, I’ll help you carry the plates.” Hu Yue’er approached him, then relieved the fish from Ye Lingchen’s hands and placed it on the table.
Immediately, Zhao Liangying and Hu Yue’er had seemingly forgotten about their rivalry. They rested their heads on the table, staring intently at the fish.
“One bite, let’s try one bite together?” Zhao Liangying asked while swallowing a mouthful of saliva.
“I agree!” Hu Yue’er licked her lips. With that, both of them surprisingly arrived at the same conclusion and reached out with their chopsticks.
“Oooh—it tastes so good!”
Hu Yue’er let out a moan. The moment the fish entered her mouth, her eyes went wide. Her face was glowing with astonishment…
It was too amazing. That was definitely the tastiest thing she had ever eaten.
Zhao Liangying swallowed a mouthful of saliva and decided not to delay any longer. She picked up a piece of meat from the fish cheeks. That was the most tender part of the entire fish.
As soon as the fish entered her mouth, Zhao Liangying looked mesmerized, her eyes closed. Her face was one of bliss as she let the aroma from the fish linger in her mouth, feeling as though she was on cloud nine.
Although she knew that Ye Lingchen’s food was amazing, she was still captivated by the taste when she tasted it once more.
Moreover, as the fish went down their throats into the stomach, both women felt a feeling of contentment. The unhappiness in their hearts and conflict with each other had been thrown away. It was a blessing to partake in such a wonderful dish. What was there to be unhappy about?
“How is it? Is it amazing?!” Wei Daxun, who was paying close attention to their expressions could not hold back any longer. He quickly rushed over with his chopsticks.
“Scram!”
Hu Yue’er and Zhao Liangying said in unison, then guarded the fish behind them as though it were their child.
That display immediately stunned Wei Daxun.
Zhao Liangying and Hu Yue’er exchanged glances, then smacked their lips. “Why don’t…we take another bite? Just one more!”
Wei Daxun was stunned speechless.
[Hahaha, Baby Ying and Hu Yue’er are just too cute.]
[Wei Daxun: I feel wronged, but I won’t say it.]
[Is it really that good? Sob sob sob. I want to eat too! The fish looks appealing. It looks even better than those made by chefs in five-star restaurants.]
[God Ye is really omnipotent. He’s too amazing.]
[F*ck! I haven’t eaten anything. It’s not good for you to spread poison like this.]
[OMG! Did you guys realize that Baby Ying and Hu Yue’er put aside their differences over food? Does that mean that God Ye’s culinary skills could bring peace between them?]
[Gasp—it gets scary when you think about the smaller details.]
…
Meanwhile, Ye Lingchen was focused on the other two dishes. One was the fish soup, while the other was the steamed fish.
Both of them were being processed at the same time. Moreover, once the preparations were complete, all he had to do was watch the pot cook. Although it required more time than braising fish, it was not that much longer.
As expected, shortly after, a different aroma was present in the Mushroom Hut.
This aroma was not as intense as the braised fish, but it was lasting. Furthermore, it stood out from the braised fish. It was an aroma that was closer to nature, the original essence of the fish.
“The fish soup and steamed fish are ready too,” Ye Lingchen announced, then opened the lid.
The fish soup was milky white. The plump and tender fish head, along with the soft and tender tofu bounced about within the boiling soup. On top of the soup were some chopped scallions and herbs, looking like stars scattered across the night sky. The image enticed their appetites…
