Chapter 395

Commanding Wind and Cloud

Chapter 395: Mayor Is Mad and Consequences Are Severe

“That’s too kind of you.” Marc Gavin acted like he was being flattered. “My place has been a mess these days. The last leader of the Rays has made his reappearance. I have to do something because they would definitely come after us.”

“What? I didn’t expect them to be so persistent.” York Leigh thumped on the table so hard that the cups all bounced up. “It seems they care nothing about my feelings! I was the notary of that duel between them and Qian Jin. Do they want to pursue it further? No way! I have to meddle in this. Marc, just go with whatever you want to do. Please do remember, you and the Torrent Battle Fort will always have my backing.”

The bear was thrilled. He longed to fly to the Wudo Group and give Qian Jin a big hug. Ever since he had become the president of the Torrent Battle Fort, people had turned cold shoulders to him most of the time. He had never held his head up like he did today. The largest force in Yulee, the Mayor, had directly announced his intervention. The Rays were to be held at bay this time.

“Although I can’t control the whole city,” York Leigh sneered, “They made a play against you? They’re essentially making a play against me! They’d better restrain themselves if they are smart enough. Otherwise… Hmph!”

“Wow! That’s a mayor indeed!”

“You are flattering me.” Said York Leigh, with a faint smile. “As long as the Rays dare to run riot, I will contact another force and clean them out once for all.”

“That’s a very smart move Your Highness.”

“Haha…Thank you.” York Leigh slightly bent over. “I’ll drop by once I have time. I would teach the Rays a lesson if they dared to say anything. I haven’t seen Qian Jin for a long time. I kind of miss him.”

“Thank you, oh wise and strong Mayor.” It seemed Marc Gavin had decided to kiss the man’s ass from stem to stern.

“Right, Marc, there’s one more thing. Don’t tell others that Qian Jin is capable of forging Soul Weapons.” The Mayor lowered his voice. “Sometimes it is better to stay low-key.”

“Don’t worry about it, Your Highness.” Patting his chest, Marc Gavin guaranteed. “I only told you this because we hit it right off. The secret stays between you and me.”

“Great! Marc, don’t call me ‘Your Highness’ anymore! Be my guest and call me York.”

“Haha… Good, York…” The bear’s laugh in this play was anything but natural because he couldn’t stop thinking about Qian Jin. He could only get on in the world like this because of that young man. How was he doing in the Wudo Group?

“Qian Jin, come, let me buy you a drink! Just one!”

Holding a wine jar in his arms, Mad Dragon circled around his benefactor. It had been the third shot.

Qian Jin sighed at the hospitality of this leader of Mad Dragon Division. He felt like he was going to pass out from the alcohol.

“Call it off, Little Dragon.” Jun Wudo put on a serious face. “I need to tell you something. Qian Jin… I want to cultivate him as my heir.”

“Qian Jin…” Putting the jar on the ground, the muscled man made a bow. “I owed my life to only two people in the whole world. One is Brother Wudo and the other you. I am happier than anyone if you become the next boss! You have my absolute support! Anyone against you? He is against me!”

“Don’t say that, Brother Mad Dragon.” Qian Jin immediately stretched out his hands and raised the man from his knees. He couldn’t help but sigh in his heart. “What is going on here? We were, in fact, complete strangers. Now somehow I have become his lifesaver because of the third person?”

“Just call me Little Dragon.” Mad Dragon got up and his expression became somewhat grave. “But I’m afraid you first need to enlist the vice president, Kui Richang.”

Was the vice president called Kui Richang? Qian Jin thoughtfully nodded. Both the Mad Dragon and Vicious Tiger looked like tank generals. The vice president should be someone entirely strategic.

“You must pay extra attention to that man! He is too damn good at scheming.”

Mad Dragon raved in his delirium. “Don’t get fooled by his fragile and sissy appearance. He is a Warrior and mage dual trainer and he has the Golden Warrior Heart!”

Golden Warrior Heart? Qian Jin raised his eyebrows noncommittally. He had heard of this more than a few times when back at the Ancient Desert Sea together with the Snake Emperor. It was, in fact, the refined Warrior Heart 2.0 was exclusive to Demon Extinguishers.

One could only extract its soul power after he had given birth to a golden heart.

“Boss…”

A janitor trotted into the room and reported. “There are a few ladies at the gate claiming themselves the wives of Mr. Qian Jin.”

Huh? It suddenly occurred to Qian Jin he had a prom to go to. He was too excited over the reunion with his uncle that he had totally forgotten about it. Those girls must have come for him because the time was approaching.

“Uncle Wudo, I’ve got to go now. I will come by another day.”

Watching his nephew fly away like fear had lent him a pair of wings, Jun Wudo shook his head and sighed. “The kid, is he a henpecked husband?”

“Dad, I’ve decided to apply for the Punitive Expedition War Academy!”

“Huh? How come?” Jun Wudo looked at his daughter with the greatest curiosity. “You don’t want to abandon your daddy now?”

“Yeah.” Qian Nianchen laughed out. “I want to take a closer look at my cousin! How can he be so strong without turning on the Elf King Bloodline Power? I must figure it out!”

Jun Wudo sighed. Obviously, he had been flattering himself. His daughter chose to stay only because of the cousin she had just met.

“But…” Jun Wudo gazed at the direction that young man vanished in. “Why is he in such hurry?”

“How can’t we be in such hurry?” Lucifer Lucy looked at Qian Jin who was putting on his dinner-jacket. “We thought you had come to a fight with Jun Wudo. They were worried about you being killed by that underworld king.”

Qian Jin nodded apologetically to the other three girls in the carriage. It had been too complicated. First of all, his uncle flew a kite to sound him out. And then the Mad Dragon and Vicious Tiger! Finally, he had been appointed the next leader of the Wudo Group for God knew what reason!

It just sort of all came together. Time had passed by just like that.

“Let me tell you something surprising. The president of the Wudo Group is my uncle!” Qian Jin dressed as fast as he could and hastened to inform the four beauties. “Jun Wudo, he was formerly named Qian Zheng.”

The girls were immediately intrigued by this breaking news that they even forgot to condemn their Mr. Dreamy for not caring other people’s feelings. As they moved forward to the party, they were sincerely affected with the reunion story.

After the bumpy ride till the city gate, Qian Jin and Gabriella transferred to another carriage. Saying goodbye to the three, they drove all the way to their destination.

In the moonlight, the Punitive Expedition Academy gave off a soft inaccessibility like a sleeping dragon under the stars that might wake up and rock the world at any time.

Pulling up in front of the academy, Qian Jin reached out to help the girl out. In the bluish moonlight, Gabriella looked exceptionally charming with a faint trace of shyness on her face.

Seeing Qian Jin, the janitor suddenly straightened his back. They all had heard the story that this young man had whipped one of them to death just right here, in front of the academy.

Taking a peek at the girl behind Qian Jin, several students wanted to see who exactly she was. But the mystic date seemed very timid with her head hidden behind Qian Jin’s back. No one could see her.

The road inside the campus loomed sedate and the tranquil. Countless talented warriors had walked out from here and they had marked their spirits here. The wind rose, enlivening, keen, and in a blaze of well-being, Qian Jin took a closer look at the coming students.

“Too bad…” Qian Jin sighed. The power conveyed from the tranquility was completely different from his continuous and relentless drive to move forward. They simply didn’t match. But it was also a great chance to feel the spirit and integrate it into his Warrior Power.

A short distance in front of them, waves of laughter and music reverberated in the sky.

Qian Jin checked the route and soon enough, he saw a theater-like building around which there was nothing but darkness. But the interior part was as bright as midday.

Qian Jin sighed at his timid date. It seemed she would only press forward when she was cornered. That was exactly what she had usually done.

Suddenly, Qian Jin saw a familiar figure in front of the theater. Abela.

The girl having two vice presidents in the Crystal Magic Tower as her parents was also in a blue decollete dress today but she had girded her waist with a sash. Holding a glass of red wine in hand, she looked around under the protection of four retinues as if she were waiting for someone.

“Hell no.” Qian Jin touched his nose in a helpless smile. Was the girl waiting to see a poor show from him? This time they had to choose retinues…

Qian Jin tapped his own nose with his index finger and cursed himself for being so stupid. Several proms had been held since they had entered the school for almost three months. If so, most warriors should have picked up the retinues they wanted. But for a girl like Abela? The four retinues must have sold themselves to her identity instead of ability.

Stroking his chin, Qian Jin marched forward. “Well, I am afraid there are perhaps only two kinds of retinue left to be recruited.” One was those who had no prospects at all that no one would take a fancy to them. The other was extremely powerful but aimed also extremely high. They disdained those paper tigers at the party from deep in their hearts.
