Chapter 892: The Ten Thousand Years War

Blast open a tunnel to parallel worlds!
Everyone was stunned after they heard that. The death of a black hole would blast open a tunnel to parallel worlds?! Oh god, that meant that a war would occur the moment a tunnel to parallel worlds had been created?
“So, Uncle Dyke, what you’re saying is that a supermassive black hole died 10,000 years ago and created a tunnel to a parallel world. And then,” Hong Dali stared with wide eyes. “then, the war began? Did we head over to fight them or did they come over?”
Hong Dali’s question was very important.
For example, if we headed over to fight them, but got absolutely destroyed and sent back… that would be an epic fail.
However, if they came over to fight us, that could not be tolerated!
“Of course they came over.” Dyke sighed lightly and said, “Every time a supermassive black hole explodes, disturbance to the space-time balance would occur. The creatures from other parallel universes will often take the opportunity and attempt to invade us. They fight with our living beings for resources. These are wars between races and universes. There’s no right or wrong in this. The victors would obtain more resources. The losers could only face death.”
What the heck. It sounded like the creatures of the parallel universes were more terrifying than the Zergs!
The Zergs at least had the Queen of Blades who offered to sit down and negotiate. There were no discussions at all with the ones from the parallel universe. They fought the moment they met?
“So, for these wars, nobody bothered to sit down and drink tea or discuss life?” Hong Dali wondered. “We can trade for resources. Look at all the planets in our universe, aren’t all resources obtained through trades?”
“That has to do with the way of life for the living beings in other parallel universes.” Dyke smiled and said, “For parallel universes, every parallel universe has a different species acting as overlords of the universe. For example, the overlords of our universe are humans like you. In another parallel universe, the overlords could be the Zergs. In others, they could be the Robots, or Goblins, or Demons. It’s different for every one.
“In our universe, the humans take the lead. If we’re lucky, humans will come from the parallel universe as well. You can then communicate and begin trade. However, if Zergs, Robots, Demons, or the others come, they won’t waste their breath on you. There will only be one outcome. It’s either you win or you lose.”
After Dyke said that, Hong Dali finally understood.
This was like the discovery of the New World. If your own country was highly developed in science, technology, and military, you could communicate well with other humans on a new continent.
However, if you arrived at the new continent to find it filled with Zergs or Robots, or full of Demons and Goblins, could you still sit down and have a chat? Either kill or be killed, in other words, you had to fight first and talk later!
“It does seem scary.” Hong Dali’s eyes grew wide open. “In other words, the previous war between the parallel universes 10,000 years ago happened at our Dimu Star Sector, right? How did the battle go? Can you tell us?”
A battle of such a large scale must be considered an epic war. They must listen to it.
Naturally, after Hong Dali asked that, everyone present started to listen intently…
“Tragic.” Dyke took in a deep breath and said, “Countless were injured and died from that battle. Not just you humans, but all those races on friendly terms with humans suffered greatly.”
“For example.” Dyke discreetly looked at Acka resting on Hong Dali’s head. He did not expose Acka’s origins. However, the topic was about Acka. “Only two Green Phoenixes survived from the previous war. They were originally a very powerful race in the universe. There were tens of thousands of them. After that battle, though… the two remaining ones are only alive because they had to reproduce for the sake of their species’ survival.”
What the heck! Two left from tens of thousands of them?
Dyke continued, “For us Dragons, the Fire Dragon King Arebusta, the Earth Dragon King Bretina Reza, the Ice King Riedestim, the Wind King Valmaridio, the Light Dragon King Vincent Darrow all died. The Dark Dragon King Tefiliz and the Seven-Colored Dragon King Rioms Van Dyke, me, were heavily injured!”
“Five of the seven Dragon Kings fell. The two others were heavily injured and left the battlefield.” Dyke said, “It was terrifying. Our giant dragon army died in huge batches. Now, 10,000 years later, the Fire Dragons, Earth Dragons, Blue Dragons, and Wind Dragons still have not recovered from the loss of the five Dragon Kings. The Light Dragons have recovered slightly better, as the Light Dragon King protected many of his own kind before he passed. However, that doesn’t mean much. Another true Dragon King has yet to appear. Sigh.”
What the heck! That’s basically genocide, right? How could the enemy be so powerful?
Everyone was shaken to their core.
The war between parallel universes could not be compared to wars between humans and humans or humans and Zergs. It would be like comparing a World War with a fistfight on the streets. That was terrifying!
“In that battle, over five million Dragons died.” Dyke looked at Hong Dali and revealed the casualty numbers. “That number is so low only because us Dragons are powerful enough. However, the total death toll of humans is much, much higher.”
After he said that, Dyke looked at the curious eyes of Hong Dali and the rest. Finally, he said, “The final death count for humans was… six quadrillion! In other words, over thirty percent of the humans in the Dimu Star Sector died!”
Oh my god, over thirty percent of the population from the Dimu Star Sector died in the war between the parallel universes 10,000 years ago?
“Afterwards,” Dyke said in a low voice, “the Shenglong Astral Royal Family of the Dimu Star Sector dispatched over one quadrillion human soldiers to pilot the most advanced space carrier of that time. Only then could they eliminate the remaining intruders. However, from the one quadrillion humans sent by the Astral Royal Family, only seventy trillion returned. Less than one in ten survived.”
Ahhhhhhhh! Hong Dali completely collapsed emotionally once he heard those numbers.
What the heck? Were all wars in the universe calculated with these insane numbers?!
The others turned silent, too. It was terrifying!
“Then, Uncle Dyke.” Hong Dali was always heartless. However, he had to be serious now. “Hm, how shall I say this.” Hong Dali thought carefully. “You see, you and the other Dragon Kings contributed so much to the humans. Since you say we’re fated, is there anything I can help you with? Hm, like those things that aren’t too complicated. After all, I’m just a prodigal. My abilities are limited now…”
Hm, they sacrificed so much for humans. We should at least offer to repay them, right? The most crucial thing was that doing a favor for the Seven-Colored Dragon King would grant him great face in the future. Regardless of whether he could help, he should at least offer, right?
“Actually, there’s not much you can help with on my side.” Mister Dyke slowly said, “After all, I’m almost fully recovered. The other five Dragon races without their Dragon Kings are the ones who need help.” He turned to look at Hong Dali. Suddenly, his voice turned serious. “Young man, the other five Dragon races aren’t doing well. The most important thing is that no other Dragon Kings have emerged. Without a Dragon King, they’re headless and clueless. They’ll never amount to much. Hence, if possible, I hope you can find the other Dragon races and help them.”
What the heck! I’m a prodigal! I’m a poor soul who loses Health points every day!
I’m uncomfortable if I don’t squander for even a single day!
Now you tell me to help out the five Dragon races? Judging by what you said, you’re asking me to help them find their Dragon Kings?
Don’t you think this mission is too tough for me to accomplish, my brother, ah no, my uncle!
“Well…” Hong Dali looked at those around him, then turned to look at Mister Dyke. “Aren’t you overestimating me? I’m a prodigal. A prodigal! This mission is too difficult, right?”
Hearing that, everyone nodded.
Who was Hong Dali? He was an absolute prodigal. He always had his lackey act for him. He always spent hundreds on things worth ten dollars… You were asking someone like him the save the Dragons. That… was too big of a joke, right?
“You can discover my existence during a competition. That proves that you’re not ordinary.” Unexpectedly, Dyke gave Hong Dali high praise. “An ordinary person will never be able to help the other six Dragon races. Although you’re weak now, you possess a good mind. You don’t act according to expectations. Who knows, maybe you’ll stumble into a solution and become useful.” After he said that, Dyke suddenly smiled. “Alright, I know that these are just empty words. Perhaps I should reveal some useful information to you. For example, the benefits you’ll receive!”
