Chapter 259.2 - Grandmaster

The Ancestor of our Sect Isn’t Acting like an Elder

Chapter 259.2 – Grandmaster

Xue Qilin stood in a daze for a long time.  It was not until Phecda suddenly woke up, rubbed her eyes, and called “Qilin” that she finally snapped out of it.

She walked over without a word and caught Phecda.

“Qi, Qilin, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Boo… I was in the wrong!”

Probably because she thought that Xue Qilin still has a bone to pick with her due to her previous stunt, Phecda struggled and sorrowfully begged forgiveness. Xue Qilin, however, didn’t bicker. She just wrinkled her nose and put Phecda on her head.

“Ah?”

A sound of surprise escaped Phecda’s lips, clearly showing that it’s quite surprising for Xue Qilin to let the matter drop.

“Qilin, aren’t you angry?”

“Humph humph, someone told me to be magnanimous.”

Xue Qilin crossed her arms and answered rather arrogantly.

In the next moment, however, her shoulders slumped, and she scratched her nose embarrassedly. Phecda leaned forward and looked at her master’s gradually reddening cheeks in surprise.

“Alright, I was wrong as well. I shouldn’t have shaken you… I’m sorry.”

Upon hearing Xue Qilin’s apology, Phecda opened her eyes wide as if she can’t believe her ears.

It was only after a long time that she blurted out a question, “Qilin, what did you just say…?”

“I didn’t say anything.”

Xue Qilin puckered her lips and answered.

It’s embarrassing enough to apologize once, she doesn’t want to apologize again.

“You said something, you said something!”

Phecda was absentminded for a few seconds, and then pushed Xue Qilin’s buns and urged in a cheerful voice.

I want to hear it again! Xue Qilin, who appears to hear the other party’s voice, understood that Phecda heard her apology just now.

Of course, Xue Qilin didn’t meet Phecda’s expectations. She adopted a nonchalant attitude, letting Phecda to ask her in various ways, yet she kept silent.

Xue Qilin untied the rope binding the tent cloth and began to do the work that Xia Xue handed to her. Seeing that Xue Qilin began to work, Phecda no longer disturbed her.

Because there is no manual, Xue Qilin has to find a way to set up the tent by herself. After thinking for a while, she decided to first set up the auxiliary sticks, then spread the tent cloth over them, and finally fix it.

Compared with the reassembling of the mechanical sword, setting up a tent is a little too simple. As time went by, the tent quickly took shape.

Who knows how long after she started working, the sun finally disappeared behind the mountains.

— yet light unexpectedly didn’t abandon Xue Qilin.

White light came from behind and made a black outline of her on the ground. This is not the light of the moon, but another kind of light, one with which Xue Qilin is quite familiar with.

She’s here, too? Xue Qilin froze in place, and then slowly turned around and looked at the source of the light. However, before her eyes caught the figure from her memories, a faint childish voice sounded first.

“Xue Qilin, you are here as expected.”

Her voice always contains indescribable etherealness.

With the light replacing the dark, the lass seems quite dazzling.

The lass’s petite body is wrapped in a pure white radiance that makes it hard to ignore her. The radiance makes her outline fuzzy, as if a strand of white smoke that disperses in the middle of the night, giving of a sense of illusion that she doesn’t really exist.

She is now in her lass form, yet she radiates a sacred and inviolable air. The dark purple eyes embedded in the childish face are as abstruse as the starry night sky, dotted with countless lights.

It appears as if everything in the world would feel unseemly and be eclipsed in front of her.

In the face of such a lass — the Hua Dynasty’s currently sole Grandmaster, Beiming Youyu, even Xue Qilin, who has known her for a while, can’t help but marvel at her.

“Wow, it’s Older Sister Little Fish! Long time no see!”

Phecda waved excitedly to Beiming Youyu. The latter smiled faintly and returned the greeting.

“Xue Qilin, do you know that it’s impolite to stare at others like this?”

Seeing Xue Qilin stare at her in a daze, Beiming Youyu, who is in the form of a small girl, frowned unhappily. The furry fox ears on her head also stirred subsequently.

In response, Xue Qilin came back to her senses and replied with a playful smile, “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t expect you to show up here!”

With that, she put down the tools in her hands, got up, and walked up to Beiming Youyu.

“Little Fish, you came, as well!”

Then, Xue Qilin realized something and made an “ah” sound.

“Little Fish, you didn’t want to participate in that meeting or something? … ah, it’s the one related to the Wulin Assembly!”

“I had someone else participate in my stead.”

After a short pause, Beiming Youyu added, “When I’m present, the sect masters of the other three sects will be apprehensive and won’t express their opinions. In that case, it’s better that I don’t go.”

Her tone seems to be that of self-deprecation as well as seems to secretly mock the cowardice of others.

Beiming Youyu suddenly squinted her eyes.

“Besides — it seems like I’m needed more here.”
