Chapter 243: Contending Against the Qin Clan’s Father and Son, Obtaining the Map (Part 1)

“Shen Lang, I am happy, too happy…” Qin Mengli couldn’t contain the joy in her heart as she constantly repeated. She then gave kisses to Yang Dingtian’s face nonstop.

On the outside of the carriage, all the warriors were pretending as though they were deaf and blind to the events inside the carriage. They remained vigilant and continued the travel sternly.

After returning to the residence, Yang Dingtian didn’t wait too long before someone entered Qin Mengli’s residence and stated that he wanted to meet with Shen Lang. This person was Lord Qin’s trusted aide, Qin Kuang.

Qin Kuang might have the surname of Qin, but he wasn’t a Qin Clan’s descendant. However, he was Qin Wanchou’s most trusted individual and held the position of Qin City’s internal affairs chief.

Yang Dingtian immediately got up from bed to meet with Qin Kuang.

“Follow me into the inner city again. The Lord wants to see you.” Qin Kuang spoke straight to the point, “Do not let anyone else see you.”

Yang Dingtian revealed an astonished expression and replied, “Alright. But I need to inform Madam Qin first.”

“There isn’t a need.” Qin Kuang said, “I will ask someone to inform Madam Qin.”

After finishing his statement, Qin Kuang’s body surged with a powerful energy field. It put down pressure like a tall mountain, making it hard for Yang Dingtian to breathe.

This person was a Master class expert! In front of him, purely in terms of energy, Yang Dingtian didn’t have any way to resist.

Yang Dingtian bowed and said, “Yes!”

Afterward, Yang Dingtian followed behind Qin Kuang and left the residence. He then boarded a black carriage.

Subsequently, this black carriage rode towards the inner city without any sound or presence.

***

Ten minutes later, Yang Dingtian followed Qin Kuang into the inner city again. Right now, it was almost 1 am in the middle of the night.

A few hours earlier, the entire Qin City was brightly lit, and it was bustling with noise. Right now, the inner city was in utter silence; the giant palace was like a monster entrenched in the darkness. There was no noise and no presence, and it was filled with a mysterious and dangerous aura.

The current Qin Kuang was like a vulture in darkness. He lowered his head and led the way without any sound, but his body was emitting a terrifying presence.

As Yang Dingtian followed him and walked constantly, the inner city was just like a ghost town now. Not even the patrolling warriors could be seen, and there was barely any light.

It was as though this place was entirely different from the brightly lit city earlier.

He followed Qin Kuang to a secluded man-made lake.

The entire man-made lake was about a few hectares in size, and it was tranquil in the darkness of midnight.

Qin Kuang stomped down lightly, and the lake water rapidly declined. In a few short minutes, the lake, which was a few hectares large and over ten meters deep, had been emptied. There was a small building in the center of the lake that was around 300 square meters, and candles were burning brightly inside.

Qin Kuang followed the steps into this building at the center of the lake.

No one would have expected there was a secret room in the lake. Since Qin Wanchou had invited Yang Dingtian to this place, it was obvious he had something very secretive and important he wanted to discuss with Yang Dingtian.

Instantly, the lake water emerged again, and the water level gradually rose up. In just over ten minutes, the entire lake was restored to its original appearance.

***

Yang Dingtian walked into the small building, which was contained inside the cooling and tranquil lake water.

Qin Kuang walked towards the outside and opened the door before saying, “You shall enter alone.”

Afterward, he exited the small building and into the lake water.

Currently, Yang Dingtian was so nervous that he felt like he was suffocating.

It was clear that the most important moment had arrived, it was also the most dangerous moment. This moment would decide whether Yang Dingtian could obtain the other half of the Mystic Flame’s map.

If he succeeded, he would have the complete Mystic Flame’s map. If he failed, he would be dead.

Yang Dingtian opened the door a little wider before walking inside. There were two individuals inside, Qin Wanchou and Qin Huaiyu.

“Shen Lang, do you know why you are asked to come here?” Qin Huaiyu asked.

Yang Dingtian shook his head.

Qin Huaiyu asked again, “After you defeated Ye Feng, why did you choose to draw this painting as a gift to my father?”

Subsequently, he took out the East Parting Grassland’s painting that was gifted by Yang Dingtian and laid it out.

Yang Dingtian said, “Due to the sudden request, and because I didn’t have anything prepared, I felt that this was already the best and the most impressive gift I could offer.”

“Where is this place in your painting?” Qin Huaiyu questioned.

“East Parting Grasslands.” Yang Dingtian said.

“Have you been there?” Qin Huaiyu asked again.

“Yes, around four years ago.” Yang Dingtian said and started to arrange the words in his mind. He was rearranging the story of him entering the East Parting Grassland and inspecting it to make sure it was flawless.

But before Qin Huaiyu could ask about the East Parting Grasslands, Qin Wanchou suddenly asked, “Who is your Master?”

“Saber Monarch, Xi Ying!” Yang Dingtian replied.

“It is him?” Qin Huaiyu was slightly astonished.

Saber Monarch Xi Ying was indeed a very mysterious and very famous person. In fact, he was a legendary figure in this world.

In the Primal Chaos World, all experts at the Martial Ancestor class and above came from a prestigious major faction. All Martial Mystic class individuals came from a faction or aristocratic clan. It also meant that for wandering martial artists, no matter how high their innate talents were, they would only be able to cultivate the Great Mystic Martial Master class at most. They wouldn’t be able to go any further.

But, Saber Monarch Xi Ying was an exception. He didn’t originate from any faction or aristocratic clan; he was purely a wandering warrior. But he had ultimately become a Master class expert. His Wind Wave Evil Saber had brought fear to the entire world with just the news of it.

“No wonder, no wonder…” Qin Wanchou commented.

Qin Wanchou immediately asked again, “When you defeated Ye Feng at the end, his final mystic skill was truly formidable. It contained the energy of a 9-star Martial Ancestor. With your cultivation, it should be impossible for you to withstand it.”

Yang Dingtian’s heart thumped suddenly. Without a doubt, the truly fatal question had arrived, and it was today’s true highlight. If Yang Dingtian weren’t able to give a logical explanation, it would be hard for him to walk out alive. But if he could offer a reasonable explanation, it would make the obtaining of the Mystic Flame’s map much easier!

Yang Dingtian instantly sank into temporary silence.

“Why? Is it not convenient for you to say?” Qin Wanchou asked indifferently. His tone might sound insipid, but his eyes were rather dangerous.

“That isn’t the case.” Yang Dingtian replied.

Qin Wanchou stated, “Then do say it.”

Yang Dingtian gritted his teeth and said, “Ye Feng’s final move wasn’t something taught by the Mystic Heaven Sect Patriarch, Zhu Qingzhu at all. It was an Evil Dao’s technique, the Devil Encirclement Mystic Art.”

Once this statement was out, Qin Huaiyu was slightly alarmed as he looked at Yang Dingtian with lightning speed.

Of course, Qin Huaiyu knew that Ye Feng was using the Devil Encirclement Mystic Art, he was surprised because Yang Dingtian actually knew. This was a secret that only a few individuals would know!
