Chapter 442: I Will Have Breakfast First
“Eh?”
The True Habitant of Taixu asked in confusion. “Did the champions of Green Hill return ahead of time? I did not sense that aura… perhaps they had returned to the homeworld through a hidden portal and hidden their auras?”
And yet, not even the True Habitant of Taixu himself believed his own words.
After all, how powerful was the immortal will of a peak Golden Immortal such as himself?
Aside from the secret grounds isolated through arrays and the handful of grotto-heavens, his Immortal Will basically extended throughout all of Earth. Though he rarely did so, there was no way he could not know if the Green Hill Foxes had really returned to Earth.
Moreover, The True Habitant of Taixu understood Jiang He’s grudge against the Green Hill Foxes.
Would the Green Hill Foxes not go to Jiang He with a bone to pick? Would their auras not be raging in their bid for vengeance?
Meanwhile, Lü Dongbin and the other elites all traded glances, with another Golden Immortal asking seriously, “Could they have been ambushed by the legion of the Hundred Races Alliance on their way back?”
That was actually… very likely.
On another note, some of these immortals had left their Daoist legacies on Earth, but those had long since faded. Since they were people from from the Throne of Six Holies, disciples from the Three Teachings or the Celestial Court, they had all accepted the invitation from the True Habitant of Taixu and soon arrived at the Taixu Sect.
The many disciples of the Taixu Sect had responded quickly as well, and soon had a banquet ready to receive their guest.
After having several goblets of wine down his stomach, Lü Dongbin stood up and said, “Brothers, now that the homeworld is unsealed, the Hundred Races Alliance would already have gathered their legion upon the Black Demon Star in the Sky Demon System, intent on mounting another invasion here!”
“By decree of the Six Holies and Jade Emperor of the Celestial Court, all of us have returned here to repel the alliance and defend our homeland…”
His generous, emotional speech lasted for an entire hour.
In summary, it was just this: the immortals must work as one to fight their enemies and protect their home.
With that done, Lü Dongbin began to lay out their plans, saying, “The Star Map is unsealed and clearly under the control of someone. Does anyone know who that is? He must not be left out if we want to keep the Alliance’s legion in outer space.”
“He could use the Star Map to monitor outer space, even wielding its authority to subjugate powerful foes!”
Lü Dongbin raised his goblet and chugged the wine before turning to the True Habitant of Taixu with a smile and said, “Brother Taixu, you have returned earlier—do you perhaps know of which disciple of which sect it is who had such incredible luck to receive the Star Map’s acknowledgement?”
The True Habitant of Taixu flashed a pained smile. “It is now controlled by Wang Hou, a commoner.
“Oh?”
The immortals all became interested in Wang Hou then.
They did not have a detailed understanding from the simple conversation before, and since Lü Dongbin had spoken now, the True Habitant of Taixu promptly revealed anything he knew.
Naturally, he mentioned Jiang He the most—about how he had gone out alone to fight the Sky Demons and his subsequent war against the Penglai Sect and the Ten Thousand Swords Sect, his attack and destruction of the former sect… all the way to how Jiang He had ambushed the Golden Immortals of the Penglai Sect, Green Hill Foxes, Unbounded Demon Sect, and other factions in outer space, slaying every last one of them despite being a True Immortal.
A little emotional, the True Habitant of Taixu then sighed. “That kid is truly a devil… in comparison, all the prodigies in all the worlds do not even deserve to tie his shoelaces. It’s a shame that the kid has a temper and is impulsive, and things would most likely not end well after he charges into outer space alone to ambush the legion of the alliance.”
The many immortals were left in a blur from his story, with someone unable to resist asking, “True Habitant of Taixu… just now, how many years did you say this Brother Jiang had cultivated for?”
“Less than a year!”
Gasp!
A wave of sharp inhales could be heard, and another Golden Immortal exclaimed in shock, “Could Jiang He be an reincarnation of a certain superior being?”
“The reincarnation of a superior being cultivating up to True Immortal in a year?”
Someone shook his head in disbelief.
True Immortals were not much in most worlds, and even lesser races would have thousands or even dozens thousands of True Immortals. However, saying that a True Immortal who had ascended less than a year could cut down multiple peak Golden Immortals was absolutely frightening!
Even Lü Dongbin exclaimed in shock, “Ascending as a True Immortal without needing a year, and turning the tables against the best of Golden Immortals as one… such talent is truly unheard off, and should he head to outer space, even the Saints of the Throne of Six Holies would manifest and accept him as a disciple.”
Remembering then that Jiang He had gone off alone to attack the legion of the Hundred Races Alliance, Lü Dongbin could not hold back a look of pity on his face and muttered, “Prodigies do not die easily… Perhaps this Jiang He is still alive.”
“Moreover…”
He looked around and laughed coldly, “Why would he have such bloodlust and yet repeatedly put everything on the line to defend our homeworld? His conflict with the Green Hill Foxes must be examined further.”
On the other hand, Lü Dongbin did not mention a word about the destruction of other sects such as the Penglai Sect and the Unbounded Demon Sect.
They were already gone. Why bother?
And since the champions of the Green Hill Foxes still remained, they could come up with a solution to make peace if Jiang He survived.
Beside them, the True Habitant of Taixu had a sip of wine and calmly said, “By the way, the kid is adept at arrays, though his technique is remarkably curious and I have neither seen nor heard anything like it.”
“What?”
One of the Golden Immortals could not sit still at that.
Being an acquaintance of the True Habitant of Taixu and knowing his talent in arrays, he promptly stood up and stared at the True Habitant of Taixu with bulging eyes. “Brother,” he said, “I know for a fact that you are incredibly learned in arrays. And yet Jiang He’s technique is above yours?”
Shaking his head while disbelief filled his face, the Golden Immortal exclaimed, “I could more or less accept that he cultivated up to True Immortal in a year, since no one knows for sure whether any superior beings have left any of their legacies on the homeworld, and he might have cultivated inside an accelerated array… but are arrays that easily learned?”
Shocked?
This is all it takes to shock you people?
The True Habitant of Taixu could not help laughing inside.
I was even more shocked than you are when I heard about it.
Even so, he retained a look of composure and grinned. “You haven’t seen anything yet, Brothers. Based on what I know, Jiang He had inherited no legacy or cultivated within an accelerated array. According to him, he had learned everything on his own.”
“Oh, right!”
“Aside from arrays, he is also a grandmaster in item refinement who could easily craft any immortal item or improve the grade of a mystic item. One of the acting elders and the incumbent chieftain had personally witnessed him refine items, even recording it.”
“At the same time, Jiang He is also a master at pellet refinement.”
“In fact, his methods in refinement items and pellets were so shocking that both the divine and devils would be leave sobbing in marvel. It is simply unheard of…”
The True Habitant of Taixu was flattering Jiang He all the way, and even took out a jade charm. Infusing his mystic energies into it, the complete process of how Jiang He refined items and pellets outside his own house was replayed.
After witnessing it, the immortals were silent and utterly baffled.
“Are you sure this is items and pellets refinement, True Habitant of Taixu?”
A Golden Immortal with a youthful visage rose and laughed coldly then. “I may not be a master in pellet refinement, but I still know a thing or two about item refinement. How are you supposed to refine mystic treasures from doing those things?”
“That’s right!”
Another Golden Immortal said, standing up. “I am slightly learned in pellet refinement as well and I have never heard of such methods shown. The spirit medicinal ingredients bear different properties and melting points—even if he could extract the medicinal fluids after throwing everything into the cauldron as if it was stew, they would not fuse perfectly, and any medicinal pellets brewed would be useless!”
These immortals had cultivated for untold years, and were each masters of their craft.
Therefore, those who had dabbled in item or pellet refinements were doubting themselves after seeing how Jiang He had done it. Even the strongest Golden Immortal—Iron Crutch Li, who was also closest to Grand Luo—could not help frowning.
His honored title was the Potion King, and he naturally did not lose out in the field of item refinement.
That was when he spoke, “I have not heard of such pellet refinement as well.”
He did not mention about the chance of success, however, and instead said, “True Habitant of Taixu, please notify the Golden Immortals of the other sects to meet here. We need to make arrangements as the Alliance’s legion would be coming soon.”
“Very well.”
The True Habitant of Taixu Sect replied, and promptly took out his Communications Jade Charm to send word—around a dozen minutes later, streaks of immortal light shot through the horizon as the Golden Immortals of various sects rushed to the scene.
Meanwhile, the Ten Thousand Swords Daoist… was halfway there.
Just as he was about to reach the Taixu Sect, he suddenly switched directions and flew toward Lingzhou City instead.
Soon, he landed outside Jiang He’s gates.
“Mister Jiang, Mister Jiang…”
He called out loudly the moment he landed.
“What? What?!”
Holding on a cigar with his mouth, Dumbo came to him with a flamboyant stride, mouthing curses as he barked, “You old fool who keeps running to my house every day… what do you think you look like, yelling and yapping early in the morning?”
Early… in the morning?
The Ten Thousand Swords Daoist looked up at the skies…
The sun was leaning towards the west, and it was around three or four o’clock according to layman terms?
He had yet to say a word, however, Dumbo glared and barked angrily, “What are you looking at? It is still early in the morning as long as my master hasn’t woken up. Speak, why have you come?”
“Dumbo!”
Another voice could be heard out of the blue.
It was Jiang He, standing on the balcony of his second-floor bedroom.
After rebuking Dumbo, he smiled, “Don’t blame the dog, Brother Ten Thousand Swords. It is a little mischievous… by the way, do you have business with me?”
The Ten Thousand Swords Daoist replied, “The True Habitant of Taixu has just sent word that a large group has returned from the celestial battlefield. Among them are dozens of Golden Immortals, hundreds of True Immortals, and thousands of Heavenly Immortals—I was about to hurry there myself, but came to give you a head’s up after considering that you might not know this, Mister Jiang.”
“Oh?”
Jiang He’s gaze twitched and he smiled, “If that’s so, I’ll come with you to the Taixu Sect.”
“However, could you please wait for a moment? I need to wash up and have breakfast…”
The Ten Thousand Swords Daoist was speechless.
What is this breakfast you speak of? The sun is setting soon!
