Chapter 130 – Finding a New Place (2)

“I come and keep this place clean on a regular basis. You can just move in directly. The sheets on the beds are freshly laundered, but you can change them out to your own. I’ll clean out the closet in a little bit for you to use. You can use anything in the kitchen, but you will have to provide your own condiments.” The boss lady turned on the bathroom lights. There’s a gas water heater and toiletries. “These belong to my son, but you can just use them. They tend to go bad after a while anyway.”

After looking at the house, the boss lady handed the key over to Shu Yan, and she would be able to move in whenever she wanted to.

Shu Yan thanked her profusely and brought Tianbao with her to pick up some items from their new house. The boss lady’s house was fully furnished but when it came to daily consumables or bedsheets, it was better to use their own. Particularly the bedsheets. Not so much that she thought the boss lady’s ones were dirty, but that her own was more comfortable.

When she returned, Shu Yan noticed that the floor had been mopped. The boss lady must have mopped it when she came to pick up her things. That was…. Shu Yan put her things down and rolled up her sleeves. The first thing she did was to remove the original set of bedsheets, washed them, and hung them up to dry before she put them on her own. She then put their own clothes inside of the closet. Now all she has left to do was to tidy up the kitchen a little bit, and they will be able to move in.

“Tianbo.” Shu Yan took a breath and suddenly noticed that she hadn’t heard a peep from Tianbao for a while. She walked outside to take a look and saw that Tianbao had already fallen asleep on the couch. She picked him up and put him into the bed. Looking at him sleeping so soundly, Shu Yan’s lips curved upward slightly.

Little kids were always sensitive. Ever since they had come to a new city, as though he could sense that he needed to rely on his mother for everything, he had not dared to throw tantrums. He had been very well behaved recently trying to earn her approval. He was a good kid by nature. He was only a misbehaving kid before because he had bad parents.

After she had pulled the blanket over him, Shu Yan went to busy herself in the kitchen. When she was all done, Tianbao had already woken up.

“Mom, are we going to be staying here from now on?”

“That’s right. We will stay here until the end of the year. Then we can move into our new house. Then we won’t need to move again.” Shu Yan knew that it was bad to move around a lot for kids, but she had no control over it.

Shu Yan took Tianbao with her to Teacher Liu’s place. Jingjing had already left for school. It was just Teacher Liu and her husband left at home. Shu Yan explained the situation to them, and Teacher Liu agreed right away.

“That’s good that you have found a place to stay. It’s best for kids to be with their mothers.” Teacher Liu brought Shu Yan with her to pack up. At the same time, she told her how nice of a kid Jingjing was. Every time she cooked, Jingjing would help her with rinsing out the vegetables and set the table when dinner was about ready. She would even help clean up afterward, very different from the other male student.

Shu Yan wasn’t too happy after she had heard that. It was a good thing that a kid is mature, but it’s also sad when they are too mature. Jingjing must worry a lot that Teacher Liu would dislike her and didn’t want her to stay there, which would give her mother even more pressure. That’s why she tried so hard.

Shu Yan had previously paid 100 yuan for the month for Jingjing to stay here, and Teacher Liu insisted on refunding her.

“What is that for?” Shu Yan pushed the money back. “I own my own business and need to go merchandising from time to time. I might ask for your help to watch over Jingjing again in the future.”

She couldn’t possibly take the money back. Contrarily, she brought with her meat and fruits to thank Teacher Liu.

When she went to pick up Jingjing after school. Jingjing’s eyes beamed when she saw Shu Yan. She jogged over with her backpack on her and said, “Mommy, how come you came?”

“Mommy has found a place, so I come to pick you up.” Shu Yan held one kid in each hand and brought them with her to the market to buy ingredients for dinner.
