Chapter 753: Death

Deng! A thunderous thump resounded as the entire lab trembled. One could observe a distinct dent in the reinforced glass plate of Hammonds' observation room.
Still, the high voltage electricity wouldn't discriminate and viciously shocked all invading perpetrators.
Dazzling blue currents jolted crazily and wrapped the head of the Biohazard Rex. Even such a redoubtable beast similarly suffered devastating damages.
The eyes of the human face at its belly were rolled back, and its dinosaur-human hybrid arms spasmed frantically. Sludges of diluted excrement leaked out its dinosaur anus which released an unexplainably repulsive stench.
Under normal circumstances, a human would be sent flying from the tremendous energy influx once they interacted with this high voltage electric wall. Nevertheless, that was only for humans. If a massive beast with astounding weight touched the high voltage electric wall, the springing force of the electric shock was utterly inadequate.
Hence, when the Biohazard Rex headbutted into the electric shock wall, the total damage it sustained was simply unimaginable; what more, 300% of damage amplification?
Yet at this moment, the remaining lights of this lab space flickered repetitively. Naturally, under the incomplete state of this base, scarce power supply was still a huge problem.
In actual fact, Hammond knew of the scarce power supply and planned to resolve it. Actually, fuel pellets for a nuclear reactor was still being transported over. If there were no mishaps, the truck that Sheyan and gang saw earlier, was dispatched to pick up the final round of goods including that.
Following the rapid weakening of the electric shock, the berserking Rex eventually pulled its head out of the network of high voltage shock.
Its eyes were crimson red and traces of charred spots could be seen along its light red leather. Fissures could be seen along its leather which emitted a piercing burnt stench; the consequence of an electric shock.
Right now, it was submerged in its infuriated beastly instincts. With a crazy roar, it noticed the hiding researchers and flogged its giant tail against the room.
Logically speaking, there was still the incomparably sturdy steel alloy fence covering the glass. However, proceeded a massive tail whip from the Biohazard Rex, numerous distinct cracks formed across the reinforced glass.
Once again, its tail spasmed from the electric shock but the threat was now distinctly lower.
Seeing the agonizing and senselessly savage Rex attempted to headbutt in again, a man in a black suit cried out to Hammonds.
"Doctor!! Inject the 'Gene-destruct Compound' at once!"
The astounded Hammond was still trying to collect his breath as he replied vacantly.
"Ah bu...…..but, those invaders aren't dead yet!"
"Who cares! That blasted lizard has gone utterly bonkers!" The man in black suit howled in panic. "Eliminate it or we will perish with it. Kill it now and we still have a shot at survival. We can negotiate with them, after all, they seem to be humans!"
After speaking, the man in suit hastily snatched Hammond's cane. He quickly twisted the cane handle and out came a key, which he inserted into a socket and pressed a button nearby.
Suddenly, two guns slipped out from the ceiling ahead of the observation room. After a blinding flash, one could observe two stainless steel syringe were injected into the Biohazard Rex's body.
The syringe then forcibly pushed a maroon colored fluid into the beast.
In spite of that, the Biohazard Rex continued its reckless rampaging charge. Although the 'Gene-destruct Compound' had been injected into its body, it remained like an out of control speeding truck; savagely slamming itself against the observation room.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Sonorous rumbles continued as the lights flickered incessantly and extinguished!
Brief seconds later, amidst the clamour, the emergency power system booted up and recovered the dim lights.
At this moment, one could observe the Biohazard Rex roaring in anguish while idling at its spot.
With the illumination of the restored lights, one could observe large amounts of hideous black veins spreading out from the injected spots of the beast. Like tentacles, the veins extended towards all muscles.
Concurrently, the Biohazard Rex begun strangely melting as viscous substance dripped down incessantly; as though it was a lighted candle.
At this moment, Zi's stern voice commanded out.
"Everyone attack together! We must ensure its death is recorded in our hands. Even if the battle spoils are ultimately affected, it wouldn't be as bad as nothing!"
Right now, Sheyan was recovering from near-death state. He panted heavily as vitality was quickly restored to him.
After a while, upon noticing the trembling state of the Biohazard Rex where it melted to the point of exposing bones, he drew his '+7 West' and lunged forward.
The impression he donned was like a famished wolf baring its fangs while pursuing bleeding prey!
Four metres away from the Biohazard Rex, Sheyan leapt up fiercely as he ferociously beheaded down with his oceanic-blue long saber.
Countless blood wounds covered the Biohazard Rex and its belly human face. The final blade slashed down from the dinosaur's scapula all the way down its belly. In that instance, the human face including the Rex's belly, was sliced opened!
Purplish-black blood and loads of murky green innards instantly spilled out.
The Biohazard Rex released one last drawn out roar and attempted to cover its belly wound. However, the slippery innards continued pouring out through the gaps of its claws.
Simultaneously, the battling contestants received the notifications.
[ You killed a Tier-7 legendary creature: Junior Biohazard Rex ]

When the Biohazard Rex collapsed to the ground, it started dissolving rapidly and finally....revealed a shimmering dark-gold key.....as eyes popped out unanimously!
Zi couldn't resist the urge to glance at it before she bluntly strolled to the side. Her arrogant personality disallowed her from participating in loot allocation, and her only objective was to complete her damned mission.
Meanwhile, the scene of the observation room was extremely tragic. Alas, the Biohazard Rex's brute strength far exceeded their imagination, breaking through and colliding around wantonly.
The man in black suit had been knocked into a pitiful distorted mess, with his legs wrapped behind his head. A profound concavity could be seen on Hammond's chest and a baseball-sized depression on his head. Still, he wasn't dead and allowed Zi to stroll over.
He pointed at her and pleaded with a trembling voice.
"Sav.....save me, I don't wish to die!"
Zi shook her head and answered indifferently."
"You can't be saved."
Hammond breathed in heavily.
"Noooo, impossible…..I've injected the dinosaur gene into myself. I possess the dinosaurs' vitality! Save me! Save me!!!"
While pleading, he grabbed Zi's shoes tightly. When facing death, nobody would give up so easily.
Zi glanced at him insipidly and replied.
"I want that amber from you."
Hammond replied in shock.
"Wha….what amber?"
Zi explained earnestly.
"That amber that seals the blood genes of dinosaurs, the amber that started everything!"
Hammonds gaze was starting to dim as he answered.
"It...it's in my office. Y...you must sa-save me…...save me….sav..."
Thus, the ambitious and talented scientist died. A lifetime of significant ups and downs, a truly lamentable character.
At this moment, Zi realized she was almost out of time and hastily rushed for Hammond's office.
While running back, the contestants witnessed that due to the power crisis, many strange creatures in those cultivation tanks were stirred up. Some were beating frantically against the glass. Thus, the contestants didn't dare to tarry either.
When back in the Hammond's lab office of basement four, they rummaged through the place and still failed to locate the amber.
After pondering, Zi said.
"To basement 1! This is the Research Nexus. Entering it requires a stringent biochemistry precaution and sterilization. Apart from his main research work, Hammonds still need to take charge of administrative and construction affairs. He should be quite involved with such exterior matters, and for convenience's sake, his office should be at basement 1!"
Reef held no objections to Zi's words but couldn't help but asked curiously.
"Zi, why do you seem so familiar in this field?"
Zi smiled and chose not to answer Reef.
The four ascended the shaky elevator. Due to the poor emergency power supply, the elevator shook and made small dips occasionally. Fortunately, it managed to hold on till basement 1.
As expected, the contestant quartet located Hammond's administrative office. Right on his office desk, an amber was employed as a wondrously exquisite ornament.
