The Dragon Prince's Wife is a Translator
1251 Chapter 39 Jiu Wei Love Story
Thinking like this, Baihu Sei let out a long sigh. The woman kneaded her temple before looking at her brother’s figure with his head hung low. She couldn’t see his face but from his fidgeting fingers...
This man is nervous.
Baihu Sei sighed again for the second time not knowing what to do in this situation.
Surely her brother was too excited to marry her off to actually broke his promise. Maybe, that husband candidate also pressured him so he could see her sooner?
Whatever it is, the man is already here. It’s not polite to chase him away.
With reluctance written all over her face, Baihu Sei weakly nodded, "...okay, I’ll be there for dinner but the formal match-making will still start tomorrow, " The woman glared at Baihu Lei again, making sure that her brother won’t do anything out of their agreement anymore.
Being spared, Baihu Lei couldn’t hide his excitement. The man immediately nodded making his long silver hair fell to the front, "Sure, sure, just a dinner!" He smiled from ear to ear feeling ecstatic that his sister didn’t beat him up.
Baihu Sei only harrumphed and waved her hand, "Go, go! I’ll see you later, " she said while turning her body around refusing to look at her brother anymore. The woman resumed combing her hair, ignoring her brother who was still there behind her.
Baihu Lei couldn’t care less whether his sister ignored him or not. Thus, he immediately turned around to leave the room, heading to the dining room. Even though Sei said the match-making should begin tomorrow but if she liked this man...they could get married right away, right?
This thought made Baihu Lei chuckled to himself as his figure disappeared from the corridor.
At the same time, Jiu Wei had just arrived at the border of the spiritual continent. As the teleportation didn’t allow him to enter the continent, he was dropped at the outskirt of the continent.
"I need 30 minutes to get to the capital from here..." Jiu Wei rubbed his palms as he walked toward the huge wall protecting the continent. There, there’s a small gate used for the people to enter or leave the continent.
He had visited this place before as a sacred beast but now he’s a human...could he still enters?
Jiu Wei gritted his teeth and decided to make a commotion until the news reached Baihu Lei’s ears. He might be captured but surely he would be brought to his residence, right? It means he will meet Baihu Sei too! If he’s lucky.
Thinking like this, Jiu Wei dashed to the gate and just a meter away from it, the gatekeeper there noticed him. In the dark, a man figure with short brown hair was running toward them at a high speed. He looked like he’s going to charge straight to them so he could enter.
Realizing what’s going on, the guards and the gatekeeper with their keen senses immediately shouted one by one, "You there, stop!"
"Stop, stop, stop! You can’t enter!"
"Hey, catch that young man! He’s trying to barge in!"
A few guards scrambled from their position and dashed toward Jiu Wei who was only a half-meter away from entering the continent. Even though the surrounding is dark with only a few torches as the light sources, these guards could still pinpoint Jiu Wei’s location easily.
"Grab him!" Another guard shouted as he approached Jiu Wei. Since he’s a sacred beast, his speed couldn’t be compared with Jiu Wei who’s not even a cultivator.
In just less than a second, Jiu Wei was surrounded by these guards, forcing the young man to halted his steps.
Jiu Wei squinted his eyes trying to adjust himself to the darkness, so he could see the surrounding. He scanned the people around him but sadly as a mere human, his eyesight wasn’t good enough. He couldn’t see anything besides a few torches located quite far from his place.
The only thing that helped him pinpoint these people location was the sound of footsteps approaching and the guards’ shout. Other than that, all he could see is darkness.
It’s indeed too dark as the moon was blocked by the black cloud. There’s no light other than the torches held by the gatekeepers. Still, that couldn’t help him at all. It only helped him to guess the location of the gate.
"Block him!" Another loud voice of the guard sounded behind Jiu Wei as the young man felt a gust of wind pass by. It should be another guard that already surpassed him.
Jiu Wei didn’t move from his place and only stared blankly at the darkness in front of him. He kept his calm as he waited for the guards to surround him completely.
His purpose is to get caught after all.
Just when the young man thought like that, one of the guards around him suddenly asked in a rough, loud voice, "Who are you?! Why are you trying to barge in??"
But none of the guards stepped forward to grab Jiu Wei. They just put up their guard while surrounding the young man so he won’t escape.
At this distance, they could feel that the young man didn’t have even the slightest cultivation energy. He’s not a cultivator and also not a beast for sure. His weird hairstyle added more mystery to this man’s identity.
All the guards raised up their guard while held back their urge to grab this mysterious man as they didn’t know the identity of the young man.
Who is he?? He tried to barge in yet he’s completely powerless!
