Chapter 1743 - : But I Only Want Food and Water from Your Home
Provocative Fiery Wife: My Superior is a Affectionate Spitfire
Chapter 1743: But I Only Want Food and Water from Your Home
“Picky?” Butler Charlie took off the black apron in the kitchen and asked, “Madam, how did you tell?”
“I guessed it. I just wanted you to quickly prepare dinner. You didn’t see how that girl hugged Xiujie the moment she saw him. If I didn’t see how that girl grabbed Xiujie to thank him on the spot, I’m afraid I would have doubted Xiujie’s personal charm. Moreover, he’s the most popular uncle-type bachelor on the market right now. This girl has deep feelings for him.”
“Madam, you’re really amazing. You can even see this?”
Butler Charlie praised as he was busy washing the plates. The sound of the water was so loud that he did not hear what Zhang Manhua said. When he turned around to look at Zhang Manhua, she was already upstairs.
He did not pursue the matter further.
“I say, why are you here? Why are you here?”
Qu Xiujie’s face was filled with worry as he looked at Mao Nana anxiously. “Young lady, why did you come to our capital from R City?”
“I’m here to look for you!”
Mao Nana answered directly.
“Why are you looking for me? Our relationship is already over. Why are you looking for me? Let me ask you!”
The more anxious Qu Xiujie was to finish his conversation with Mao Nana, the more attention he attracted.
“Of course, I have my reasons for looking for you, but Uncle, why are you so heartless? I just saw you get off that car. Is this your home? Do you already have a family?”
Mao Nana’s eyes were hurt. The wind blew a little on her face, but it also had another kind of charm.
“It’s none of your business whether I have a family or not. Let me ask you, what are you here for?”
Qu Xiujie was impatient and looked at the passersby who were looking at him as though he was wasting a treasure. They shook their heads and seemed to be sighing for Mao Nana.
This was another scene where an uncle played with a young lady and the latter came to look for him.
“Hey, hey, hey! What are you guys saying?!”
Qu Xiujie listened to Mao Nana’s crying voice and the passersby around him lamenting that he was playing with a young girl’s feelings and even wanted to chase her away.
The passersby walked away when they heard his shout but after taking a few glances at Qu Xiujie and Mao Nana, they returned to their original route.
“What’s wrong with you, young lady?”
Qu Xiujie looked at Mao Nana, who was in front of him, and cried. She looked as though she had finally found him after walking for eighteen thousand miles, yet she was tugging on his sleeve tightly, unwilling to let go.
“Uncle, can you not treat me like this? It’s not easy for me to come here to look for you. I’ve already quit all my previous jobs.”
Mao Nana finally said that her ‘brave’ action was to quit her original job for Qu Xiujie.
Actually, it was because she could not stand her boss taking advantage of her that she had resigned in a fit of anger. However, she could not think of where to go, so she only asked the Madam who was shopping with Mother Ji in R City and realized that they were in the capital.
When she reached the capital, Mao Nana did not even need to personally inquire about all sorts of news regarding Qu Xiujie. All the gossip, whether good or bad, kept entering her ears.
All these good and bad news made Mao Nana believe that the Qu Xiujie they knew was different from the Qu Xiujie she knew.
The more it was like this, the stronger Mao Nana’s desire to find Qu Xiujie became. In the end, it became that she had to wait for Qu Xiujie in front of the house for an entire day. She stood there without eating or drinking just to see him.
However, what Mao Nana did not expect was that after standing in front of the house for an entire day, the neighbor next door kindly invited her over for a meal, but she refused.
When she saw Qu Xiujie walking towards her in a black leather jacket, she seemed to smell his scent. Yearning was such a torturous thing and she had to remind herself to be concerned about this man standing before her.
However, the moment Qu Xiujie spoke, he made her feel so sad.
“Then what do you want me to do? Do you want me to invite you over for a meal and then let you stay for the night?”
Qu Xiujie’s voice suddenly turned cold. Before Mao Nana could reply, he quickly added, “Miss Mao, I think you understand that saving you was purely a coincidence. It’s really a coincidence. You don’t have to think so much.”
Qu Xiujie really wanted to explain to her that he was not the good person she was talking about, nor was he the evil young master that the passersby were talking about. He, Qu Xiujie, had always been Qu Xiujie and did not rely on anyone to describe him.
“Uncle, I know, but I’ve been standing here waiting for you the whole day. I haven’t eaten a single bite or drunk a drop of water.”
Mao Nana was very pitiful. She was a beauty to begin with and when she cried, it was not as exaggerated as those actors on TV. Instead, it made Qu Xiujie, a rough man, faint. He was a man and was most afraid of women’s tears. Previously, he had Zhang Manhua’s tears but now, he had Mao Nana’s tears. He did not understand what he was going through.
“Uncle, why don’t you let me rest for a while and give me a glass of water? I promise I’ll leave.”
Mao Nana looked up and her eyes were glistening with tears, making Qu Xiujie’s heart ached.
“Give you a glass of water? Are you a beggar?”
Qu Xiujie raised his voice and looked at Mao Nana but did not know what to do with her.
“Yes, I’m a beggar, but I only want food and water from your home.”
Mao Nana looked at Qu Xiujie and said silently in her heart. However, she was full of resentment. Why did she travel all the way to the capital? Was it because she wanted to repay this uncle for saving her wallet?
“Can I?”
Mao Nana was very calm and did not avoid looking at Qu Xiujie but Qu Xiujie was stunned.
All these years, he had been the one fooling others, but now, this Mao Nana made him feel weird.
