Chapter 2094: It’s You

“They”…

Lu Yun sank into deep thought. The overlord of Ice had passed on the method of nothing to him and his true identity was Ancestor.

The method of nothing…

Lu Yun first used it to access the sequence of time and thus thought that that was all there was to the method. But the moment he took up Quietus again, he realized how wrong he’d been. The method of nothing could facilitate him to obtain the sword’s true power.

The method of nothing…

What was it?

Lu Yun still had no idea, but he understood that without the method, he would’ve irrevocably lost to the tomb owner and be buried in the tomb, forever trapped without hope of release.

Reincarnation would be eternally laid to rest with him.

His hands wrapped around Quietus, Lu Yun exhaled softly. Thank goodness for the method of nothing! The tomb owner hadn’t caught a hint of it even when peeking into Lu Yun’s life through reincarnation.

“This is my oversight. To think that you’ve mastered the method of nothing!” A new voice sounded in the void as Heavenfall returned to the scene. A faint shadow stood toward the front, the spear in its hand.

God.

He was here.

Or rather, he was always here and had never left.

“Why?” Lu Yun frowned at the sudden newcomer.

“Does understanding still elude you?” God’s features were obscured, preventing Lu Yun from seeing him clearly. Formula dao returned nothing but a blank haze.

“You wish to bury reincarnation, not me,” Lu Yun murmured. “I am but a tool you chose to be the bearer of reincarnation.”

“Would you believe me if I said that burying reincarnation in the tomb would end the ceaseless devastation and permit things to operate normally again?” God smiled. “Would you be willing to be buried here to stop the repeating great destruction of this nothing?”

Lu Yun looked silently at God instead of replying.

“Aren’t you doing this to go home? Why have you schemed incessantly for the sake of this part of nothing?” he asked.

“So there is something you’ve probably understood for a very long period of time,” God chuckled. “Existence is objective and we—or rather, all of life—are but accidents within existence. The vastness of objectivity was never for life. Life merely ekes out a survival in a trivial crack. This cycle of objectivity saw the birth of life and a suitable environment to house it. But what about next time?

“Therefore, I’m afraid you’ll have to suffer for the sake of the greater good. Your sacrifice will ensure that life possesses sufficient breathing space to survive in this part of nothing.” God looked silently at Lu Yun.

The young man looked back at him; he couldn’t see God’s form. Be willingly buried here? He would probably agree if he really was the Virgin Mary.

But Lu Yun was just Lu Yun. Everything he did was for his own sake or those around him. He just didn’t want to be lonely.

Be buried here for the sake of all life?

His enemies were innumerable. Wouldn’t his wives, child, disciples, and friends be slaughtered down to the last if he was buried here?

Thus, he would never do something so ludicrous.

God had also guessed the young man’s answer, so his aura continuously built as he waited. Heavenfall glowed with a bronze hue that surrounded Lu Yun.

The young man wasn’t strong enough. While he’d reached godhood, this level of strength was defined by God. That meant it was below God’s.

Far below.

God originally wanted to borrow the tomb owner’s hand to bury Lu Yun, but the young man had learnt the method of nothing at some point in time and wielded Quietus. He killed the tomb owner instead!

Therefore, God had to do the deed himself.

The mistress and Dao King were still alive and both stronger than God. God ran the risk of exposing all of his schemes and plots if he killed Lu Yun. Either of the two would take action against him.

“Your goal was never to end the great destruction,” Lu Yun sighed. “You just want to reach the pinnacle and influence objectivity with subjectivity, becoming the master of existence and the sovereign of objectivity and subjectivity.

“Your primary body has always been here. If I am buried here, you’ll be able to take control of reincarnation and use it to reach the peak that you wish. You didn’t dare expose yourself and take action before this because you were concerned that the mistress and Dao King would move against you.”

The young man saw God’s goal thanks to formula dao.

“Is there any difference with what you say?” God chuckled. “I will oversee all if I become that pinnacle of existence and objectivity will divert according to my will, becoming a paradise for life.”

“Don’t you think the mistress and Dao King will kill you for that?” Lu Yun looked at the other.

“I am the guardian of immortal dao and it protects me. They will not detect where my true self is before you die,” God smiled. “But they will notice that you are suppressed here, so we can only race against each other and see if I reach those heights first, or if they are first to arrive after your death.”

If the tomb owner successfully buried Lu Yun, the mistress and Dao King would be swift to arrive. But they wouldn’t know that God was also here, which would’ve left him more time to refine reincarnation.

But if God took action himself… all would be laid bare. The two would come at the fastest speed possible, not to save Lu Yun, but to kill God.

Therefore, God would not take action himself if he had any other choice available to him.

The two exchanged a myriad of blows as they conversed. Qi and killing intent intertwined around each other amid a clash of great daos. Blazing fires of reincarnation smashed into God’s primary body while divine power surged, bringing the “execute” character down on Lu Yun’s head.

Quietus was no match for Heavenfall, so the “quiet” character hovered around the young man, protecting his body. Reincarnation was his best weapon—its fire was sufficient to harm God.

All the same, he retreated at a steady pace. God was too strong. They were on two different levels; it was only a matter of time before he was defeated and suppressed.

Regardless, Lu Yun continued to resist. He would not admit defeat like this, even when he knew that defeat was inevitable.

The method of nothing operated at full force, turning the void around him into a black hole. The entire nothing was his foundation as the method of nothing was the only true method within it. It shared the same origins as the reality on the other side of the barrier.

Or rather, it could be said that it shared the same origins as the true nothing on the other side of the barrier.

Deluged by the method of nothing, Quietus sparkled with brilliant radiance. The entire sword turned into the “quiet” character, but still couldn’t contend against Heavenfall.

God walked up to Lu Yun at a measured pace, giving the young man a clear look at him.

“It’s… you…” Lu Yun’s expression shifted unpleasantly when he saw the man.
