Chapter 1300 - Destroying Chaos Beasts

As expected!

The white jade lion’s eyes immediately filled with terror. He quickly moved to the side to dodge and was afraid to attack Jiang Yi again. However, there were only thirty meters between the two of them. The Chaos Beast’s body alone measured about ten meters. How could it dodge his attack?

The deep blue flames hit the white jade lion’s body. Its body immediately turned into ice and fell into the water as if it had been struck by lightning. Still, the beast writhed in pain. A small hole appeared in the area where it was hit. It looked almost as if the deep blue flame had shot right through its body.

Jiang Yi shouted. He had already congealed another ball of deep blue flames to strike the beast again. He wanted to strike it dead while it was down!

Four or five balls of deep blue flame shot toward the beast. Jiang Yi’s aim was accurate. All of the balls of flames shot into the little hole on the white jade lion’s body. The beast kept crying out in pain, writhing even more aggressively on the ground. The entire heaven and earth seemed to shake with its movement, and water was splashing in all directions. Jiang Yi’s ears felt like it was going to bleed at any moment from the loud sounds.

“Alright!”

Jiang Yi shouted out. He sent the remaining ten or so balls of blue flames out. He flew forward, fixing his gaze on the huge wound on the white jade lion’s body. Once more, he sent all ten balls of flames into the same wound.

Roar!

This time, the white jade lion cried heart-wrenchingly. From its writhing, Jiang Yi could tell that it was becoming weaker and weaker. Its aura was also weakening, and its entire body trembled. Fresh blood kept flowing out of its mouth. Its eyes lost almost all life.

“Divinity Slayer!”

Jiang Yi did not dare to let his guard down just yet. He activated the Divinity Slayer and sent three Fire Dragons into the white jade lion’s body. The beast trembled violently as blood and innards exploded from its body. It was completely dead by now. As it floated on the lake, the lake water became dyed red. The metallic smell of blood was pungent.

Jiang Yi let out a deep sigh of relief and wiped the cold perspiration from his face. Then, he turned around. The other side of the lake seemed to have quieted down. The hippopotamus Chaos Beasts must have run away by now. Jiang Yi guessed that it had escaped to the bottom of the lake.

“Hmph!”

Since he had already killed one Chaos Beast, why would Jiang Yi let the other one go? There were still a lot of red flames left in his Fire Spirit Pearl. He had to find a way to kill that hippopotamus Chaos Beast. In a flash, he kept the white jade lion’s corpse in his Ancient Divine Essence Ring and then sped toward the bottom of the lake.

He swam as fast as he could. There were many other living creatures in the lake, but they were not Chaos Beasts. Thus, they had no attacking power. Jiang Yi chased the Chaos Beast for a full ten minutes before a huge cave appeared before his eyes. From time to time, he heard cries of pain coming from the cave.

Swish!

Jiang Yi’s Fire Dragon Sword lit up once again. He activated the Divinity Slayer and shot forward aggressively, causing the cave to blow up into pieces. The huge hippopotamus Chaos Beast was thrown out as well.

Roar!

The hippopotamus Chaos Beast cried out loudly, opening its huge mouth to shoot out a ball of blue flames. It was a pity that these flames were useless against Jiang Yi. All of them were absorbed by his Fire Spirit Pearl. Jiang Yi did not move from where he was and allowed the Chaos Beast to keep attacking him. He had already used up all of his blue flames while fighting the white jade lion earlier. It was good to replenish the blue flames and use them for attacks in the future.

One ball, two balls… ten balls!

The hippopotamus shot out more than ten balls of blue flames in total. Then, its essence energy seemed to be gravely injured. It stopped shooting balls of flames at Jiang Yi and flew toward him instead. His claws were exposed and aimed at him.

“Just in time!”

Jiang Yi did not move. Just as before, he summoned his Thousand Thearch Shield and released the balls of red flames. However, the moment these red flames appeared, the lake water around him evaporated despite his Thousand Thearch Shield. The water floated up toward the sky in swirls of white smoke.

“Go!”

He moved his Thousand Thearch Shield to the side and sent tens of wind dragons carrying red balls of flame toward this Chaos Beast. All the water that the flames touched turned into gas immediately. What remained was pure space between the beast and Jiang Yi.

Roar!

The Chaos Beast was getting scared now. It turned around and tried to run, but it was far too close to Jiang Yi. The ten or so balls of red flame hit it in its back leg, causing its back leg to become completely burned. More than half the flesh from the leg was burned off. It was in so much pain that it began writing in the water once again. It opened its mouth, shooting countless balls of blue flames at Jiang Yi once again.

Jiang Yi stopped shooting the balls of red flames, for fear of letting the blue flames go to waste. He waited until his Fire Spirit Pearl absorbed all the blue flames before he shot the red flames once again. After taking aim, he maimed the Chaos Beast’s hind leg. It now had no way of escaping.

The rest of the process was simple. Jiang Yi was not in a hurry to kill the Chaos Beast. Instead, he forced it to shoot out more balls of blue flames so that his Fire Spirit Pearl could absorb them. These flames were good stuff. Although he had no idea exactly how strong they were, he guessed that ordinary Heaven Gods would not be able to defend themselves against it. Even God Generals would likely be taken aback if he used these flames to attack them at the right time. It was best to collect as much of these flames as he could.

Jiang Yi no longer dared to waste any more of the red flames either. He wanted to use his Divinity Slayer instead to kill the Chaos Beast slowly. The bones of the Chaos Beast’s back leg had all been burned off. It tried to run away several times, but its speed was no match for Jiang Yi’s. All it could do was attack Jiang Yi in anger.

However, Jiang Yi was not afraid of its flames at all. Each time he got near the beast, he would release some red flames; and the hippopotamus Chaos Beast would retreat slightly out of fear. Slowly, after two hours, Jiang Yi finally tortured the Chaos Beast to death. There were a hundred more balls of deep blue flames in the Fire Spirit Pearl now as well. He had fewer balls of red flames; only about sixty left.

Hoo-hoo!

After killing this Chaos Beast, Jiang Yi finally relaxed his entire body. All his tense muscles were finally relaxed. He sat down at the bottom of the lake, released his divine shield, and took deep breaths. After resting for five full minutes, he finally prepared to leave.

“That’s right…”

He turned around to look at the cave in which the Chaos Beast resided. He guessed that this underground lake was its territory. Could its cave contain treasures or spirit herbs of some sort?

Swish!

He rushed into the blown-up cave and scanned the pitch-black surroundings. His vision was pretty good. If he tried hard enough, he could see quite clearly. However, the cave seemed to be very deep. He had to walk for three hundred meters before he would be able to reach the end.

“There’s nothing here?”

After scanning the place for a while, he finally found a few broken pieces of battle armor in the corner. He guessed a martial artist must have been swallowed by this Chaos Beast. These pieces were likely the remnants of that martial artist’s battle armor.

“Eh? There’s a ring here.”

In the midst of the pieces of armor, Jiang Yi spotted a black ring. He grabbed it excitedly and sent a wisp of heavenly powers into the ring. Immediately, he found a connection to another spirit. Quite easily, he managed to refine the ring.

“Oh… the space inside this ring is at least hundreds of times bigger than the space inside my Ancient Divine Essence Ring. This must be an interspatial ring of the Higher Domain.”

Jiang Y looked further into the ring and found that at least thirty kilometers of space were inside it. There were all sorts of things inside as well. Jiang Yi’s attention was grabbed by a few glowing, golden little rocks.

“What is this?”

He retrieved seven or eight of these little rocks from the ring. The pitch-black cave lit up immediately. Jiang Yi felt pure energy being emitted from the golden rocks. This energy seemed almost boundless at that.

Since he did not know exactly what these stones were, Jiang Yi did not dare to refine them as he wished. Instead, he played around with them for a while and returned them to the ring. Then, his divine senses landed on a huge ax.

Buzz!

The huge ax appeared in Jiang Yi’s hand. Mysterious patterns were on the top of the ax. There were also runic patterns moving about. This was a divine artifact; there was no doubt about it. However, Jiang Yi already had the Fire Dragon Sword. This weapon was practically useless to him.

“Go!”

He looked at the remaining stuff and found nothing special. Jiang Yi then took one last scan of the cave before flying out of the cave and out of the water. After traveling for a little over an hour, he arrived at the side of the lake. Then, he used his Fire Dragon Sword to break the soil apart and advance toward ground-level.

Bang!

Another hour later, Jiang Yi finally broke out from underground. He felt the breeze and smelled the fresh air around him. He felt completely joyful. Life always felt better after escaping from the clutches of death.
