Chapter 2803: The Fourth Virus!

The first day of treatment had consumed too much energy for training and meetings. Even an expert such as Chu Zhixiao had fallen asleep in the deep sleep capsule.
But Li Yao was not calm for a long time.
The social status of the Holy Accord Alliance was truly an eye-opener for him. Every time, every time he thought that he had recognized the limits of the evilness of the Sanctuary, the fragile ‘limits’ would be broken and replaced by even more evilness, darkness, and indescribable colors.
Compared to ordinary brainwashing, everything in the Holy Light Academy was naturally evil.
But compared to the laboratories of human nature, the ‘Lone Armageddon Warship Project’, the ‘Eternal Brightness Project’, and the ‘Devil’s Child Project’ of the Holy Light Academy were nothing.
More importantly, Li Yao did not know what the five supreme masters were up to. The resources of the Star Glory Federation were not abundant in the first place, and they had wasted a lot of manpower and resources to build hundreds of experiment starships and test human nature for hundreds of years.
Why?
Li Yao vaguely felt that the ‘lab of human nature’ was the key to hiding behind the scenes of the Sanctuary Alliance.
As long as he could unveil the mystery of ‘why so many laboratories of human nature’, he would be able to figure out the background of the five great masters and what they were up to.
On second thought, Li Yao thought of the puppet king and his various mental drugs and brain viruses.
Wasn’t what the puppet king did another ‘human experiment’?
Did this guy know of the existence of the ‘humanity laboratory’? Did he want to use his own actions to unearth the secrets behind the ‘humanity laboratory’?
“I’ve discovered something very interesting.
While Li Yao was deep in thought, the mental devil suddenly said, “I found some data scraps deep inside the memory chip of the spider tank. After they were restored, I discovered that the conversation just now had been repeated multiple times.
“Chu Zhixiao often carried out the most dangerous missions together with the Spider Tank, and the Spider Tank did not boast as high a defense ability as hers did. Therefore, seven to eight times out of ten missions, the Spider Tank would fall apart, the lost data would retum to the blank state, and she
would have to modify it again.
“Almost every time, the spider tank would ask her the same question, and she would always try to convince the spider tank with the example of ‘Eternal Brightness’. Therefore, your test did not raise her suspicion.
“Tsee.”
Li Yao pondered for a moment and asked, “Why did she explain everything to a lifeless, cold machine?”
“Idiot. The mainframe crystal processor of the spider tank is different from that of Xiao Ming, Wen Wen, and the Fist King. It is merely ‘appearing’ to be intelligent. In fact, the interface and the thinking database of the spider tank have been set up in advance. In other words, Chu Zhixiao wants the spider
tank to throw out the question time and time again. That’s why the spider tank is doing this.
“Don’t you see?” the mental devil said. “Didn’t I say that ‘Red Pig’, the spider tank, is a projection of the other side of Chu Zhixiao’s personality? She was not answering the question of the spider tank but the confusion in her heart. She was trying to convince herself that the pain she suffered and the twisted
order of the Sanctuary were necessary.
“Which means—
Li Yao suddenly realized what was going on. “This is self-deception on a certain level, isn’t it?”
“That’s right. If she really believed in her own pain and the order of the Sanctuary, there was no need for her to tell herself time and time again. Just like a man would not tell himself ‘you are a man’ solemnly in front of a mirror every morning, she would know it when she was peeing!
“The more guilty you are, the more suspicious you will be, and the more you will waver,” the mental devil said. “That’s why you have to fool yourself and hypnotize yourself time and time again.
“So, behind her seemingly cold and determined appearance, there is actually some normal humanity?”
Li Yao looked at the woman in the sleep capsule, who was still frowning in the soothing drugs, and made up his mind. “We can’t just believe in the Great Master and the gods. There are many things that we can believe in. We can believe in hope, in the future, and in… ourselves.
“Twill wake you up and tum you into a normal person!”
“You don’t need to be so judgmental. You can say that he is abnormal casually, but you don’t know that in the eyes of many people, you are the most abnormal one!”
The mental devil continued. “The experiments on ‘Eternal Brightness’ were indeed biased. But considering the Star Glory Federation as a model of the Cultivation world, it is not necessarily universal. Think about it. The Star Glory Federation became what it is today because of you. If you, the ‘cosmic virus’,
hadn’t transmigrated to the federation in the first place, the Heaven’s Origin Sector and the Blood Demon Sector would’ve been destroyed in the war of mutual destruction. The extraterrestrial devils of the Flying Star Sector might’ve still been on a rampage, the Heaven’s Ring would’ve still been under the
repressive reign of the ‘Heavenly Dipper Clan’, the Ancient Saint World would’ve still been struggling in the seal, and eventually, all the worlds at the edge of the sea of stars would’ve been drowned by the Black Wind Fleet.
“Such a war-torn, hopeless nation of Cultivators does not seem to be as attractive as the current order and system of the Sanctuary Alliance!
“Maybe you are right, but am I not here?”
Li Yao’s soul was as firm as a frozen ocean. “If I can change the federation and the imperium, I will certainly change the Holy Alliance and the entire Pangu Universe. Even if I am just a furiously burning butterfly, I will always be able to illuminate a small area of brightness wherever I go. Don’t think too
much about the messy and complicated stuff. After all, I will live and die. It’s as simple as that!”
“Can I give you an opinion?”
The mental devil was silent for a moment.
“What do you want now?”
Li Yao raised his vigilance.
“It’s nothing. I admire your hot-bloodedness and courage, as well as your fearlessness as a Cultivator. But next time, can you stop comparing yourself to a butterfly?”
The mental devil replied, “You know, as a man, it feels… weird to compare yourself to butterflies all the time.
“Huh?”
“Also, don’t say ‘hey’. Are you so engrossed in your role that you are talking to me like a primary school student?
Li Yao sighed.
Chu Zhixiao was woken up by the urgent alarms after only two and a half hours of sleep. At this moment, Li Yao was crawling around her anxiously, consolidating and analyzing the tremendous data that had just been transmitted from the mainframe crystal processor of the Heresy Interrogation Bureau.
The puppet king appeared again.
Besides, this time, he had released a brand-new brain virus, one that was entirely different from the ‘Disillusionment Virus’, ‘Glory Virus’, and ‘Taotie Virus’!
Damn it.
Did the guy not need to eat, sleep, or rest? He had just engaged with the yaksha squad at a close distance three to four days ago and detonated one of the main warships of the Star Glory Federation. Now, he was planning a new round of rampant attacks!
However, it did make sense. The time left for the puppet king was the same as the time left for Li Yao.
‘Whatever schemes and plans they had, they had to be implemented before the strategical final war between the Star Glory Federation and the imperium. At the very least, they had to make the final preparations before the war.
If the army of the Star Ocean Imperium defeated the main force of the Star Ocean Imperium, the God’s Heart Union, which could mobilize tremendous computational ability, resources, and soldiers to besiege the puppet king, would be doomed even if the puppet king was ten times better at producing
viruses!
Everybody in the Heresy Interrogation Bureau understood the urgency of the situation and gave the yaksha squad the green light. After only an hour, the yaksha squad broke through the barrier of the four-dimensional space on a super-fast shuttle with the best equipment and jumped to a certain space
zone in the center of the Sanctuary Alliance.
‘The moment Li Yao passed through the four-dimensional space, he hacked into the mainframe crystal processor of the shuttle and read the destination of the space jump, only to learn that they had arrived at a place named ‘Gold Lion Sector’.
This place was the rear of the Sanctuary Alliance and also the edge of the sea of stars where resources were scarce. It was one of the few worlds that boasted precious metal resources. Although there were not many habitable planets, it was a treasure trove of special metals. The resources here were
indispensable for the refinement of armor-piercing bullets, crystal suits, and the strengthened shells of the Giant God Soldiers and starships.
More importantly, Li Yao had seen the files of the Sector in ‘Wu Yingqi 3.0.
The Golden Lion Sector was one of the few Sectors that Wu Yingqi snuck to the edge of the sea of stars with the mission of the Blood God more than a thousand years ago, trying to activate the ‘manufacturing factory’.
In other words, a manufacturing factory from hundreds of thousands of years ago was left on a certain planet or a certain star fortress. The first batch of people of the Star Glory Federation were born in this place and eventually lost control.
Li Yao estimated that the place should be a ‘recruit manufacturing and training base’ or a ‘arms factory’ of the Star Glory Federation.
It was indeed so.
Hardly had he arrived at the Golden Lion Sector when he saw a magnificent, magnificent scene through the crystal cameras of the shuttle.
A resource planet of medium size had almost been hollowed by the ant-like mining ships, revealing a giant dent that was visible to the naked eye, like a lead-gray apple that had been bitten hard.
The excavated ores, on the other hand, were absorbed into the star fortresses nearby like hundreds of gray rivers. After being smelted and cast, they would be transformed into indestructible armor-piercing bullets or reactive plate armor. Then, they would be transported to the frontline through
countless carriers, where thousands of main warships of the Holy Alliance would be armed to the teeth in order to create slaughter, destruction, and ‘eternal tranquility’.
This was not the first resource planet that had been emptied.
As far as one’s eyes could see, countless planets had been riddled with holes. They were struggling in orbit like rotten apples. Some of them even crashed into each other and turned into stone belts, like the tombs of planets.
This was not the first time that Li Yao had seen the preparation process of a great war in space.
But it was also the first time that he realized the devastating consequences of a brutal collision between such enormous beasts as the Star Glory Federation and the imperium!
Before the war began, a Sector with relatively abundant resources had already been ‘squeezed literally. What would happen to the Pangu Universe and the civilization of mankind if a strategical war was waged and every last drop of blood was shed?
