Chapter 274 – Talking to him really wears Shu Yan out. (1)

The weather was starting to warm up and people had been switching to spring outfits. Naturally, Lao Zhang’s fall sets were not doing so well now. Hu Ruixue’s side, on the other hand, was going up and up. Her factory had expanded several times and was still struggling to keep up with production. Now that Lao Zhang’s end had slowed down, Shu Yan moved part of the order for his factory to help out.

“This came so in time. You have no idea. I have been so worried that I have sores in my mouth.” He had lost his mind from how much he made last winter that he had hired too many employees at the beginning of the year. Now that he had so many employees, they would for sure quit if there was no work. Then he would not be able to replace them the second half of the year. He had been asking around among his friends offering to help up. He didn’t even care if he wasn’t making money at all. He just wanted to keep his workers.

Unfortunately, nobody was doing too hot during the first half of the year. As much, nobody was able to split any work with him.

“It’s no problem. I am a shareholder as well,” said Shu Yan with a smile.

With Lao Zhang help, along with a few other factories, that greatly alleviated the pressure on production on Yanxue’s end.

“You have some time tomorrow?” asked Hu Ruixue after she put away the contracts.

“What is it? Are we going picnic again?” Shu Yan took a look out of the window and said, “It’s still kind of cold right now. I don’t want the kids to get sick.”

City Nan was still cold in March. Mainly it was very humid and one wouldn’t even be able to sit down on the grass.

“No, to my place. We have known each other for a long time and I even went over to yours over the new year time. You have never been to my place yet.” Hu Ruixue invited Shu Yan over to her place.

“We have been busy.” Shu Yan felt bad about that as well. Hu Ruixue coming over to her place on the second day after new year meant that Shu Yan was important to her. She had planned to go over to her place that afternoon; unfortunately, she wasn’t home. Shu Yan had already booked tickets for the third day after the new year. In fact, she got them through Hu Ruixue. She’d have to take the train had she missed it. There was nothing she could do about it.

“Excuses.” Hu Ruixue rolled her eyes. “Don’t worry. Not my folks’ place, my own place. I did not move back into my parents’ after my divorce, mainly because my mom is too naggy. I have no idea what was going through her mind. I had just gotten out of a failed relationship and she was already rushing me to go on arranged dates. Can I not live without a man? I have no intention of getting remarried.”

Unlike Shu Yan, Hu Ruixue was truly hurt and truly had no intention to get married again.

“Didn’t you mention that your mom helps take care of Duoduo?” That was why Shu Yan had always assumed that Hu Ruixue was staying at her parents’ place.

“Mainly experts and nannies. The nanny had been taking care of Duodue since she was born. She is closer to her than she is to me.” She had nobody to blame but herself. She should have done more herself.

“Alright. I will bring my kids over to yours tomorrow.” Now that she knew she was just going to Hu Ruixue’s place, there was much less to worry about.

Even if Hu Ruixue’s place has everything, Shu Yan still couldn’t go visit empty-handed. It was, however, tricky to come up with what to bring with her. After some considerations, she decided to bring with her two big bags of fruits along with ingredients for making sweet soup.

“Oh, c’mon. I have so much fruits at home already. Isn’t it difficult to lug them around?” Hu Ruixue gave Shu Yan a stare.

“I can’t possibly come empty handed.” Shu Yan laughed and said, “Duoduo, your godmother is here. Aren’t you going to come and say hi?”

“Ah, stop that already. She had just fallen asleep.”

Shu Yan looked at her watch. “It’s already 9. Is she napping?”

“Somebody lit fireworks around 3 AM and she was woken up and cried all night long. She had just fallen back asleep,” said Hu Ruixue wearily.

Seeing the dark circles under her eyes, Shu Yan frowned and said, “Why did you give me a call and tell me? I didn’t have to come today. We can have lunch any time.”
