Chapter 308: Mistakenly Undoing A Slave’s Seal

Having lost its operator, the huge elephant began to run away due to its wild instincts. Lin Jin didn’t stop it as there were no humans ten miles around them. The elephant could roam as it pleased.

Lin Jin jumped down from the elephant impressively.

When Zuo Wentang and his group saw this, Zuo Wentang himself was ecstatic. With Lin Jin here, they wouldn’t have any problems anymore.

Especially after they saw how three people were defeated in the blink of an eye. Some were paralyzed and one even fell off the massive elephant. Their predicament could only be described as tragic.

‘Brother Lin is very skillful after all,’ Zuo Wentang thought. Although he didn’t get a close look, Zuo Wentang was sure that the trio on the elephant couldn’t be any weaker than this leopard monster. This further proved how strong Lin Jin was.

The western beauty, Tilly, had her eyes fixed on Lin Jin with hints of curiosity and admiration in her gaze.

Now, only the leopard monster was left.

After Lin Jin landed, he looked right at the leopard. The latter stared back with fear and precaution clear in his eyes.

Beasts were naturally keener than humans and it was more so for monsters. Lin Jin no longer hid his prowess as he allowed the aura of his cultivation and Xiao Huo’s Dharma body to overflow, making the leopard feel immense pressure.

The leopard bared his fangs and growled aggressively but didn’t advance.

All in all, it was merely a Rank 3 monster. Even if it knew some spells, that wasn’t significant enough in Lin Jin’s eyes. Even Xiao Huo could easily overpower this monster on his own.

Lin Jin himself was fairly curious about the leopard.

He wondered how the three Grassy Continent locals managed to control a transfigured monster.

Since he couldn’t tell the specifics, Lin Jin flicked out a needle. To his surprise, the instant his needle flew forward, the sensitive leopard evaded it swiftly. Lin Jin flicked out three more in rapid succession. Though unable to evade anymore, the leopard used a special skill to harden his fur to be solid as metal spikes.

The silver needles only managed to pierce into its body partially and stopped there.

Instead of harming him, Lin Jin just wanted to appraise the leopard with his needles.

Details of the creature immediately appeared in the Museum of Deadly Beasts.

Almost every of its description had been as Lin Jin deduced, including the leopard’s rank. But there was one unique trait in this leopard.

“Slave Seal?”

Lin Jin was dumbfounded by the words.

Even in the museum, those two words sounded mysterious. The person who could leave such words definitely wasn’t an average man.

But this wasn’t Lin Jin’s first time hearing it.

He had studied many books on beasts and the museum supplied him with even more supplementary knowledge. Among them was one about Slave Seals.

The Slave Seal was a supernatural spell used by ancient immortals to control monsters. Speaking of which, it was also one of the first few spells founded at the start of this pet beast era. Though, the art was lost in time and this was Lin Jin’s first time seeing one in action.

To see something that existed only in legends obviously piqued Lin Jin’s interests. Having recovered from the initial surprise, he realized that there was a more detailed explanation of the words ‘Slave Seal’ in the museum.

Of the information provided, there were several methods on how to undo the seal, and the first one Lin Jin saw just happened to be the ‘Yin Yang Spell Negation’s formula. Spell Negation was one of the few spells Lin Jin managed to master in the Friar Association a little while back.

Back when he took part in the Friar Association’s disciple tournament, Lin Jin even used Spell Negation to break up Yang Jie’s merger with his pet beast. And now, this new spell formula seemed to be tailor-made just for him.

It even required a Yin Yang Dharma body to perform the spell.

Out of curiosity, Lin Jin decided that he would try it out.

Despite his anticipation of failure, he successfully managed to invoke the Yin Yang Spell Negation on the first try. At that instant, a burst of invisible energy began to surge in the museum, rushing at the leopard’s specimen, and then, there was a crack. It sounded like something just broke.

When he looked at the leopard’s description again, the words ‘Slave Seal’ started to disintegrate.

Stunned, Lin Jin quickly shifted his focus back to the outer world to see rays of light shining out of the leopard’s body as if he was being liberated. On the top of his head, they could vaguely see something being forcefully sucked out before it disintegrated and disappeared.

Excitement and delight were now visible in the leopard’s eyes. The initial viciousness and murderous intent were gone without a trace.

Immediately, the leopard hurried forward and knelt before Lin Jin, prostrating at him.

“Thank you, Divine Master, for breaking my Slave Seal. Lin Bao is very grateful. Please accept Lin Bao’s respects.” Having said that, three loud thuds ensued as he knocked his forehead on the ground three times out of deep respect.

Frankly speaking, Lin Jin was dumbfounded.

He never planned on breaking the creature’s seal. This was a huge misunderstanding. He only wanted to try out the Yin Yang Spell Negation and this coincidentally happened.

But what’s done is done. Looks like this leopard monster was being controlled by those Grassy Continent natives. Having broken the seal, it didn’t seem like the leopard monster was an enemy anymore.

This was considered a positive development, a good deed on Lin Jin’s part.

As Lin Jin slowly absorbed what had just happened, despite his shock, he managed to keep himself calm and composed on the surface. However, Zuo Wentang and the others were different.

All of them were currently gaping.

It had, indeed, been a shocking scene. Zuo Wentang and Tilly knew better than anyone just how terrifying and formidable the leopard monster was. It didn’t cross their mind that, before Lin Jin even made a move, this scary monster would simply kneel before him.

Something had clearly happened to the leopard earlier. They saw a strange-looking seal and silhouette emerge from his body and that must have been some kind of miraculous spell.

Anyway, neither Zuo Wentang nor Tilly could tell specifically what happened. But they know that Lin Jin must have incredible skills which somehow helped the leopard monster out. That was the only explanation for why it was prostrating before him now.

It was at this point that they fully appreciated Lin Jin’s supernatural skills.

Zuo Wentang and Tilly didn’t dare to speak. Qu Wenji ran over to Zuo Wentang and held his hand tightly.

“Wentang, are you alright?” Qu Wenji asked tenderly.

Zuo Wentang patted the back of her hand to indicate that he was alright.

Tilly rolled her eyes and took a few steps away.

However, this western beauty’s big round eyes had never left Lin Jin since just now.

Being able to defeat King Yan and the others in the blink of an eye, and now, effortlessly making this leopard monster yield and kneel in gratitude, this wasn’t something a normal person could possibly do.

Tilly was very impressed.

Meanwhile, as Lin Jin looked at the kneeling leopard, he thought, ‘This leopard’s name is Lin Bao? What a coincidence. He has the same surname as me.’

Perhaps it was fate that made him inadvertently undo the slave seal on this creature.

Just then, abruptly sensing something, Lin Jin looked up in time to see the light that had streamed out of the leopard’s body earlier condense into a single eye.

This huge eye was currently staring at Lin Jin and Lin Jin stared back at it.

Moments later, the eye disappeared into thin air.

Lin Jin’s brows furrowed.

Finally, he let out a helpless sigh.

“It’s my loss!” Lin Jin muttered to himself.

Indeed, it was his loss.

He only broke the leopard’s seal out of carelessness but to think this ended up invoking some other trouble.

That eyeball didn’t form on its own and Lin Jin figured it must be some sort of residual magic from the leopard’s seal, a spiritual eye to observe the situation here.

And whoever could achieve this definitely wasn’t normal.

It was a pity that the other person could only catch a glimpse. Or to put it more accurately, they were only able to maintain the spell for so long. Otherwise, Lin Jin would have wanted to communicate with them and get a better understanding of the situation.

However, it seemed like he wouldn’t get that chance.

if his guess was correct, the other person might have seen what happened here and knew at least who broke the slave seal. If they were a forgiving person, they might just let this pass; if they weren’t, trouble may very well be lurking around the corner.
